Mr. Smith likes all kinds of delicious food, and he often has dinner out with his friends. Now Mr. Smith is getting fatter and fatter. He can seldom go upstairs(楼上)at home and has to sleep downstairs. When he walks or does some housework, he often feels uncomfortable(不舒服的).He is very worried. So he goes to see a doctor.

    "______________," says the doctor, "and your health will be better!" But it is difficult for Mr. Smith to do it. He doesn't want to listen to the doctor. A few months later, he finds something wrong with his heart. He is afraid. Now he thinks he must do as the doctor says. When he go to see the doctor again, the doctor tells Mr. Smith it is a little late. And he has to be in hospital.

    "If you don't want to die, you must lose weight, Sir," says the doctor.

"To move your head from one side(边)to the other side when your friends ask you to have dinner out!"

When Robert was about two years old, he tried to remove a bottle of milk from the fridge but it fell, spilling (洒出) milk all over the kitchen floor.

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of shouting at him or punishing him, she said, "Robert, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have seldom seen so much milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up?"

In fact, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, "You know, Robert, whenever you make a mess like this, finally you have to clean it up and bring everything back to its proper order."

After they cleaned up the spilled milk, his mother then said, "You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two hands. Let's go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it."

The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it. At that moment he knew he didn't need to be afraid to make mistakes. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just good chances for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment "doesn't work", we usually learn something valuable from it.

Sarah and her best friend, Alex, loved exploring the forest near their neighborhood. One day, while they were exploring through the woods, Sarah stepped upon a shiny rock hidden under a pile of leaves. Excitedly, she said to Alex, "Look at what I found! It looks like a valuable diamond. Promise not to tell anyone! It's just a secret between you and me." Alex nodded, agreeing to keep it a secret. 

Later that afternoon, Sarah and Alex met their friend, Emily, in the neighborhood. Unable to control her excitement, Alex told Emily about the treasure Sarah had found. Emily was very curious（好奇的）and wanted to see it, but Sarah quickly stopped them, reminding Alex of their promise. However, Emily's younger brother, Jack, happened to hear their conversation and spread the news to everyone in the neighborhood. 

Soon, Sarah's neighbors began to visit her house, hoping to have a look at the mysterious treasure. They knocked on Sarah's door one by one, each asking if they could see it. Sarah and Alex were taken aback by all the attention and didn't know how to deal with the situation. 

As the neighbors crowded around, Sarah's mom came out to see what was happening. She gently told the neighbors that the rock they wanted to see was not as special as they thought. It was just a common quartz（石英）Sarah had found in the forest. The neighbors were understanding and soon left with smiles on their faces. 

Sarah and Alex learned that some secrets should only be kept between close friends. Sharing secrets with everyone can lead to misunderstandings and unwanted attention. They also realized the importance of trust and honesty in friendship, promising to keep each other's secrets safe in the future. 

 Once upon a time, the colors of the world started to argue. All said that they were the best, the most useful, and the most beautiful. 

 Green said, "Clearly I'm the most important. As the sign of life and hope, I'm chosen for grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all the animals would die. Look over the countryside and you will see me almost everywhere. "

 Blue interrupted(打断), "You only think about the earth, but consider the blue sky and the blue sea. The sky gives space and peace. Water of life comes from the deep sea. Without my peace, you would all be nothing. "

 Yellow laughed, "You' re all so serious. I bring laughter, joy and warmth into the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, and the stars are yellow. Without me, there would be no fun. "

 Suddenly a rainstorm started to pour down heavily. All the colors calmed down. "You are foolish colors, " Rain began to speak. "Don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me. "

 Doing as they were told, the colors joined hands. Rain continued, "From now on, when it rains, each of you will make up a rainbow in the sky to remind that you can all live in peace. "

 The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow. It always lets us remember to thank one another. 

Lee loved tennis. He got a few old tennis balls and an old racquet(球拍)from his grandfather, who used to play tennis a long time ago.

Lee hoped that he would become an Olympies1 one day. 

However,  there was one 2 . Lee's family couldn't afford the tennis lessons, the white clothes or a new racquet and balls. Lee had tried playing with the other boys on the courts, but they had just 3 his old racquet and clothes. So Lee spent his time4 them play and then practising exactly what he had seen them do, against the wall at home.

The manager of the tennis club 5 Lee and offered him a job sweeping the tennis courts. Instead of getting paid. Lee was offered 6 tennis lessons. Through hard work, his tennis skills were improving so7 that he was invited to play in a competition, Lee won all his matches. A world-famous coach in the audience was so impressed that he offered Lee a 8 at his tennis school. There Lee would receive the best coaching possible.

Then came the day of Lee's first world competition. He played well but the other player was too good for Lee to9 . Finally, he came second. 

Lee didn't mind. He had come a long way from the boy who just stood and watched others playing. There was 10 time for winning in the future. For now, he was happy that he was on the road to the Olympics.
