Everyone has a family name. In China, the family name is the first name, but in English countries(国家)the family name is the last name. Do you know how English people get their family names? And what do they mean(意味着)? English people usually get their family name in these ways (方式).

    Some family names come from the places(地方)of their homes. A man live(住)on or near a hill, his family name may be (可能是) Hill. In England(英国), people's names may be Wood, Lake because they live near the wood or the lake.

    Some family names come from a person's job(职业). If a man is a cook, his family name may be Cook.

    And many people get their family names from their father's family names. If you hear(听到) the name "Jackson", you can know that he is the son of Jack.

    Here I want to tell you some informationabout water.

    Water covers most of our planet. People canfind it in oceans, lakes and rivers, and under the ground. Water moves in theenvironment by evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. The warm Sun helpswater change into vapour and rise up into the sky. It is evaporation. Thevapour in the air forms clouds in the sky. It is condensation. When the cloudsget heavy enough, the water falls back to the ground as rain or snow. This isprecipitation.

    Ocean water has too much salt in it. Muchof the water travels far over the land. When it travels over the land, thewater picks up salt from the rocks and soil. About 97.5% of the Earth's wateris salty water. It is expensive to take salt out of the water.

    All people need clean water. They need itfor drinking, for cooking, and for bathing. Some people in a village in SouthAmerica did not have clean water. Their water was full of oil and dirty things.People there got sick when they drank the water. Other people heard about theproblem. They sent empty water tanks (储水池) tothe village. Rainwater fell into the tanks. Now the people in that village havethe clean water.

"Make—A —Wish" "is one of the world's{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(much) well-known charities.

It makes wishes{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(come ) true for children who have serious{#blank#}3{#/blank#}( ill ). It gives them hope {#blank#}4{#/blank#}helps them forget about their health problems.

It started in 1980 in Phoenix. Arizona. Christopher was a 7-year-old boy who was very sick. He always dreamed of becoming a pilot {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(fly) in the sky. They gave Christopher a tour of a city in a police helicopter(直升飞机) and bought a a space helmet for him.

There are four kinds of wishes children usually have:

I wish to go. Children usually want to visit some places of {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(interesting),{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the Statue of Liberty. 

I wish to meet. Children sometimes want to meet their favourite film stars or sports players.

I wish to be. Some children wish to become doctors to help people who don't have money for {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(medicine) treatment.

I wish to have. Some children want to have a computer, a bike or many other things. {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(luck) for them, they can get what they want from the charity.
