Flags have existed for over 3,000 years. The earliest flags were wooden or metal poles with a carving. About 2,000 years ago pieces of fabric were added to some poles for decoration. Over the next 500 years the free-flying part of the flag became more important.

    How do you spend your spare time? There will be different answers to it. Most people in Poland（波兰）have their own ways of spending free time. They have many different hobbies，which help them to get away from their everyday problems and spend their free time happily.

    Many Polish（波兰的）people like travelling. They always look for new places that they have never been to and add new and exciting experiences to their journey. Some of them like to climb mountains, others like to go to a sea or a lake to swim，because these can make them get exercise and are good for their health.

    Many Polish people also like to do sports in their free time. They are usually crazy about football，and football is regarded as the Polish national sport. Many football tans may support a certain team, so they go to watch every match of the team they support, and they buy many things that have relations with the team. Watching sport and doing it are both good ways to relax.

    In addition, doctors say that doing sports is very good for health. Many people in town, especially young men, often go to the gym to attend the exercise classes to keep fit.

    I am Frank. In our western countries, there are four seasons or 365 days in a year. Usually, we sleep 8 hours every day. So we have 122 days for sleeping. Then our study or work time is only 243 days left. But there are 52 weekends in a year. Each weekend is two days. We lose another 104 days a year for work. It takes up about one hour to have breakfast and supper. This comes to 15 days over a year. Four free hours each evening takes up 61 days. But we can't work all the time, so we need holidays. We have to remember that we get 2 days' holiday at Easter, 3 at Christmas and 1at the New Year. There are also 4 Bank holidays. Take those 10 days away and we have 32 days for work. But then we have one and a half hours' lunch every day, and half an hour's coffee break. That comes to 30 days a year. This means that we have only a few days left for study or work every year.     What is a Chinatown? Is it a town in China? Of course not! It is in a foreign country. It is a place where many overseas Chinese live together. Chinatowns are throughout the world, including those in East Asia, Southeast Asia, North America, South America, Australia and Europe. The biggest one is in New York. There are about 150, 000 people in it. It is the home of Chinese New Yorkers. And it is also a good place to go.
