   One thing that British and Chinese cultures share is a love for fine tea. Today, when we think of Western tea culture, we often think of the English and beautiful china tea cups.
Afternoon tea
   People believe that an English lady, Anna, first introduced the idea of afternoon tea.   Coffee also has an important role in British culture. People often use the words "Will you come for coffee"to mean "Would you like to come to my home for a chat?"Normally, several different drinks such as tea, hot chocolate or a soft drink like orange juice will be served as well as coffee, and you will be asked what you would like. Coffeehouses and the London Stock Exchange
   In the 17th century London, coffeehouses were busy and noisy places. Businessmen and bankers went to coffeehouses to do their business, as well as to drink coffee. In fact, the London Stock Exchange(伦敦股票交易所) is believed to have started from these coffeehouses.

   Many children love to play with snow in winter. But Long Chuan has come to hate it.
   This year his hometown suffered from snowstorms (遭受暴风雪) for nearly a month. The heavy snow stopped cars and trains, broke the electricity (电) tower and turned tap water to ice.
   Every day Long Chuan had to walk several kilometers to carry drinking water. “I couldn't ride a bike and it took me 3 hours to walk to school. I can't remember how many times I slipped (滑倒) on the hard ice, ”said Long Chuan.

   Experts (专家) say a special type of climate condition (气候条件), La Nina, caused the storms. During a La Nina, the water in the Pacific Ocean (太平洋) near the equator (赤道) becomes colder than usual. It changes the weather around the world.
Besides China, Canada, the US and Middle Eastern countries also met with heavy snowstorms this winter. The special climate caused the recent flooding (洪水) in Australia, too.
   However, experts say that people have destroyed the environment (环境). Global warming (全球变暖) may be causing these terrible weather events to happen more and more often.





Hong Kong Disneyland(香港迪斯尼乐园)
Hong Kong Disneyland opened its door to the public on September 12,2005. It's the first Disneyland in China as well as the cheapest one in the world.
Ticket prices have also been set(规定)for Hong Kong Disneyland, the fifth Disney theme(主题)park in the world. On weekdays, adults will pay 295HK dollars, children aged between 3 and 11 will pay210HK dollars and old people aged 65 or above will pay only 170 HK dollars.On weekends , public holidays and golden week holidays, adults will pay 350HK dollars, 250 HK dollars for children and 200 HK dollars for the old.
