{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, so he always goes to shoes shops. He has many basketball shoes in his room. Daisy is my sister. She likes going shopping in the centre of the city with her friends. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} She usually buys clothes first and then eats some nice food. She thinks it's very wonderful.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Because she doesn't have lots of time to go to shops and she can buy many things in a short time. As for my father, he likes to make a shopping list before going shopping. And he usually goes to the supermarket near my home.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}and the shoppers there are helpful.

In a village, there lived an old man in his 70s. As he got older, he grew to enjoy going to bed early. One day, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} group of boys played games near his house. Their loud shouting made it impossible for him to fall{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (sleep). He felt quite angry.

One evening, the old man invited the boys inside his house. He told them that he loved hearing the sound of{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (child) voices. Their laughter and cries made him feel like he had become a young man again. He promised{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (give) each of them a dollar if they would play there every day.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (excited), the same boys returned and played even more happily and loudly the next day. True to his word, the old man{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (pay) them and asked them to do so again the following day.

However, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the next evening, the boys got only 50 cents instead of a dollar.

By the{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(three) evening, the old man only gave them 10 cents. He said that he was very sorry{#blank#}9{#/blank#}he didn't have much money left.

"Dear children," he said, "would you please still come back tomorrow? I really enjoy your laughter."

The boys felt so sad that they refused his request. Was it worth{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(play) so hard if they didn't get much in return?

"To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, to draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life." These words come from my favorite movie, Daydreamer. They are always kept in my mind. The movie, directed by Brahman Turner, taught me to live my own life and to do something 1 . Inspired by the movie, I started to learn skateboarding last summer vacation.

The first 2 are always the hardest. I still remember the first day. The 3 was not great. I fell over again and again. I found skateboarding was a(n) 4 sport for beginners because you may fall over many times like I did. But falling cannot be 5 for anyone. I wore a helmet and protective gear(装备) to help keep safe. I practiced all day until sunset that day. For the next few days, I practiced hard every day. I knew that practice makes perfect. And 6 , I could skateboard. I was so proud of that.

However, as I 7 with my hobby, I met quite a few challenges. I still practiced hard for the rest of that 8 , though made little progress. Unluckily, I hurt my knee. When the summer vacation was over, I had to return to school. But I knew I would 9 skateboarding again later because it is fun and brings me joy.

It is important that we do what we love and keep doing it throughout our life. As a song goes, "One day you'll leave this world behind, so live a life you will not 10 ."

Zhang Jianna is a 50-year-old cleaner in Sanlitun, Beijing. One day in 2014, a foreigner asked her some questions but she couldn't understand him. After high school, Zhang forgot most of her English knowledge. That day, she decided to learn the language again. 

Zhang began to study her children's English textbooks. She remembered the words and read them aloud. In her free time, she used her smartphone to learn English. She also practised English conversations with her children to improve speaking. She studied hard every day. 

Now, she can speak English fluently and correctly. She can guide the visitors along the roads. What's more, she gives them more information about the city as well. Zhang and her team members need to clean more than 100, 000 square meters of roads and more than 300 waste bins near 56 embassies(大使馆). Zhang can read the names of all these embassies in English. She is proud of herself. "English is like a bridge, " said Zhang. "It brings people together and it help me introduce Beijing to the world. " Zhang never stops learning. She even plans to learn a new language in the future.
