    Autumn is a good time for children to go outside and see the changing colors of nature. The wind is cool, the days are short and the leaves are changing colors. Autumn is a great season for kids to play outside. What outdoor activities do children like?

    In China, students often have an autumn picnic held by their school. Usually, they will go to an amusement(娱乐) park or to places that are close to nature.

    What kinds of autumn activities are there for children in other countries?

    Japanese students often go hiking. It is a perfect way to get exercise while enjoying the scenes(景色). Mountain climbing in such nice weather is also a good choice(选择).

    Children in the USA like to go for bike rides in autumn. Take a mountain bike ride and you can explore new trails (探索新路). Playing in a leaf pile is popular, too. Kids jump into the leaf pile to see the colorful leaves fly all around. They also make leaf rain and leaf beds — all a lot of fun.

    In the UK, school kids like to camp outside with their parents. They make snacks over the fire and tell ghost stories.

    With the Chinese language becoming more and more popular, the UK government planned to help more kids learn Chinese, Do you think it is necessary for British pupils to learn Chinese? Three people from different countries have given their opinions.

    I studied French for 2 years in high school and German for 4 years in college. I studied Chinese for about 4 months before moving to China. Since I speak Chinese every day, my writing, reading and listening are quite good. I think learning other languages is a great thing. It offers a new and different way of living and looking at our life and the world around us.

    Learning any language can be valuable, but it is not suitable for everyone. Chinese is a difficult language to learn, and the UK is not good at teaching foreign languages. However, China is a very large and developing market for business people. For them, Chinese is worth learning.

    I don't think Chinese will be as widely spoken throughout the world as English. It is too time-consuming ( 费时的) to learn as a second language. To learn Chinese, you have to devote yourself to learning how to write and read it. It's too difficult to learn Chinese. But some day Chinese will become more popular, and that is a good thing.

    Different people have different opinions. As for me, being able to speak more than just your native language is a great thing.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Being angry doesn't really solve much, but what people do when they feel angry is important. The goal is to calm down and try to solve what is bothering you. This is hard for some kids and adults, too. Instead of calming down, some kids might keep getting more and more upset until they explode like a volcano!

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Their anger might be so strong that they lose control of their temper. They may act in ways unacceptable and hurtful. People may say that someone has trouble controlling their temper.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Some kids might get so angry that they scream at their parents, break something, or even worse, hit their brothers or sisters.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} However, it's not OK for a kid to do any of those things .Kids don't want to act in this way, but sometimes angry feelings can be hard to manage. So what to do?

Well, the good news is that kids don't just have to keep making the same mistakes over and over again.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Imagine your temper as a puppy inside you that needs some training. The puppy is not bad —- it will probably turn out a great dog. It just needs to learn some rules because, right now, that puppy is causing some problems to you.

House fires cause many deaths each year and a large number of these fires are unfortunately set by children.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}Kids must understand that they'd better not play with fire. You should keep matches and lighters out of their reach.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} The main job of such an alarm is to protect you while you're asleep. You should have a smoke alarm outside each bedroom and on each floor of your home. You ought to have two plans for getting out of your house if there is a fire and practise these plans in the dark with your family.

A smoke alarm warns you of the danger. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Take action immediately. When you come to a closed door, check it with the back of your hand. If it feels hot, there may be smoke or fire behind the door, so take care. Once you are out of your house, call the fire department from a neighbor's house. If a family member or a pet is caught inside, you shouldn't go back in. Firemen know how to perform rescues safely.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Change the batteries at least once a year. You should use the test button each month to see if the alarm and batteries are still working. A smoke alarm lasts about ten years. You ought to change it even if it seems to be working.
