On September 19, Alibaba went public (上市) on the New York Shock Exchange. It shows that Ma Yun does his business successfully. A short Chinese man seems(似乎) to be the tallest man in the world right now. Ma was an English teacher in the past. Now he becomes the richest man on the Chinese mainland.

    Ma was born in Hangzhou and grew up as a happy kid. At the age of twelve, he found that English was very interesting. Every morning he got up at 5 a.m., and then ran to a hotel near the West Lake. There he could communicate with foreign tourists in English. He did it for nine years.The experience(经验) made him become a fantastic English speaker and also opened his eyes to the wide world. In a 1995 trip to the US, he knew the Internet for the first time. Seeing the chance, Ma returned to China and set up a website without knowing much about computers. Four years later, Ma set up Alibaba in Hangzhou. People called him “Crazy Jack Ma”. But fifteen years later, Alibaba has developed into the world's largest e-commerce (电子商务) company.

    Do you know that a student can produce up to 240 pounds of school waste and lots of waste gas (气体) during a term? This includes transportation, food, paper, pens, pencils and so on.

    Transportation    Some parents drive their kids to school every day. We all know waste gas from cars is a main cause air pollution. If parents who live in a neighborhood can take turns to drive their kids to school each day, that'll be better. Another way of going green is to walk to school if students live near their schools.

    Food    It's surprising that only one elementary school can produce up to 19,000 pounds of lunch waste each year. That's only one school. One way to help take care of the environment is to stop using plastic bags. There are all kinds of environmental boxes for students to put their food in.

    Paper, pens and pencils Lots of paper is thrown away by American students. They throw away about 1.6 billion pens every year. They waste many pens and chemicals (化学药品) in them are bad for the environment. Many more pencils are thrown away than pens. Pencils are made from trees, so if more pencils are thrown away, more trees will be cut down. So students should reuse (再使用) paper, pens and pencils instead of throwing them away.

    Backpacks As fashion comes and goes, almost every kid needs a new backpack every year. They can save lots of money and materials if they reuse the same schoolbags each year.

    TapeMeasure Murder is a short story by Agatha Christie. In the story, Miss Politt, the dressmaker, finds that Mrs. Spenlow is dead in her house in a small village called St Mary Mead. Everybody, including the police, thinks that Mr. Spenlow is the murderer(凶手) because he is so calm and quiet after discovering his wife's death. But after the police talk to Miss Marple, she finds out the real murderer.

    The best part of the story is when Miss Marple explains how she solves the mystery(疑案) by noticing a tiny pin(别针) on a policeman's uniform. Her explanation is very clear and clever. Miss Marple is my favorite character in the story. I think she is very special because she is just an old lady but she is even smarter than the policemen. I never thought that an old lady could be the main character of a detective story!

    Can you guess who the murderer is? Read the book to find out! You will enjoy the story very much because the ending is so surprising.

    A group of people organized a reading party in Fujian province, on March 29. More than40 reading lovers gathered together.

    "It is the first time to organize a reading party like this, and I hope more reading lovers can join us and share the joy of reading." said one of the organizers.
