For most people having things stolen feels like an offence. Robbie Pruitt admitted that he got1 when he discovered the theft of his mountain bike last September. But soon enough, his2 took a turn.

After letting go of his anger and frustration, he found himself on a road to sympathy3 .

For Pruitt, a keen bicyclist, the first thing to do was4 his stolen bike. But when he went bike shopping, he found few available, which got him thinking: What if the5 of bikes was Covid-19 related, and what if the person who'd taken his bike really needed6 to get to work?

With that thought in mind, Pruitt7 a plan and posted it on the community website. He8 to repair bikes free of charge for anyone who needed it. He also asked for unwanted bikes, which he would repair—again9 . And then he would donate them to folks who could truly use them but didn't have the 10 to buy one.

The day the post went live, Pruitt received thirty11 bicycles. Then came more than 50012 for detailed information. By the end of 2022, Pruitt had repaired more than 140 for donation or to be13 to their owners.

Pruitt tries to give his donations to families that are14 struggling. Upon satisfying a material need, he has provided an opportunity for kids in his neighborhood to learn how to15 their own bikes.

In addition to16 skills, Pruitt's lessons teach teamwork, encourage self-worth, and promote feelings of community.17 , the kids have gained a sense of accomplishment.

"It's a really great18 for kids," said a neighbor in an interview with the local newspaper. "Pruitt is certainly providing a19 , but it's not just the bikes. It's the relationships in the community. It's the20 he can make on people."

When Mr. Brown got to the big shop, the shopkeeper had got his six umbrellas ready. After a good look at each of them, he said, "You've mended them very well."

In the afternoon he got into the train again. The{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(similar)man was in the same seat. He looked at Mr. Brown and his six umbrellas, "You've had a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(luck)day," he said.

Hummingbirds (蜂鸟) are a very important part of Mexico's ecosystem, but because of the ever-spreading city landscape, they face all sorts of serious dangers. That's where 73-year-old Catia Lattouf de Arida comes in. As a self-taught hummingbird care-taker, she devotes most of her free time and resources to nursing the tiny birds back to health. Her home in Mexico City has become known as a hummingbird hospital.

Catia's story as a hummingbird nurse began in 2011, at a very difficult moment in her life. At that time, she focused on her battle with cancer and fell into a depression (抑郁) . She was walking on the street one day when she noticed a hummingbird that had suffered a serious eye injury. The kindhearted woman took it home and named it Gucci. She managed to nurse Gucci back to health, but she said it was Gucci that saved her. Why? Because the hummingbird managed to pull her out of the sadness and loneliness that had taken over her life. 

Word of her success spread among Catia's friends, and before long some of them began bringing her injured hummingbirds. She didn't repulse them at all. She began to study the bird and their habits in order to better take care of them, and after 11 years of experience, the 73-year-old woman is considered an expert on hummingbirds. 

In order to raise awareness of the difficult situation of hummingbirds in Mexico, Catia Lattouf de Arida started posting videos of the patients in her Mexico City apartment on social media, and many of them became popular. That's when the need for her nursing services really blew up. She has cared for hundreds of hummingbirds in her 11-year career, when she has had as many as 50 of them in her apartment at any one time. She spends pretty much all her time looking after the tiny birds.

A big fire took the life of the mother in this family. When I 1 , the father and his child Mario were 2 staying in a garage. There were already quite a few 3 at the door. A mother and her daughter caught my 4 . The mother said to her 5 , "Look, this is the best jacket your daddy just 6 . This quilt is Mommy's best one. We all can 7 our best to Mario's family, so why can't you give your best? Can we change this old bear to your most 8 one?"

The daughter asked, "If I give away my best to Mario, will he give it back to me?" I couldn't help but 9 , "Of course not, once you donate something, you can't 10 to get it back."

Together, we 11 the garage. As the little girl's mother 12 the quilt and clothes, the girl took Mario's hand, whose eyes filled with tears, and 13 and carefully placed her mother's 14 into Mario's small one. Her face was pale. She bit her 15 as if making a big 16 , and said, "Mario, I am donating my mom to you, now you have a mom." After doing so, tears streamed down her cheeks, and she turned and 17 .

Her mother ran after her. The little girl, with tearful eyes, looked up at her mother and timidly said, "Mom, no, Mario's mom, I don't want to take you back, but I still want to give you a 18 kiss. Can you let me kiss you without telling Mario?" Her mother 19 her tightly, and I saw that the mother's eyes were filled with tears, her face beaming with happiness and 20 .

Kelli Boehle says her son Nik was an amazing and caring person. Nik was diagnosed(诊断) with cancer in 2008 when he was 17. He passed away in 2012. But Nik's kindness and generosity have lived on long after his death.

After he was diagnosed and started treatment, Nik was granted (给予) a wish experience from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. "For just this period of time, we didn't think about cancer, "Kelli Boehle said. "All we thought about was enjoying our time together."

In 2009, Nik met another young man Nate, who was also going through cancer treatment. He'd been diagnosed a month after turning 18, and Nik learned he was too old to qualify for a wish. The night before Nik passed away, he asked his mother to help ensure that young adults fighting cancer could have their wishes come true too. 

"It was like a seed he planted that just wouldn't stop coming into my mind, " she said. In 2012, Kelli Boehle started Nik's Wish. The nonprofit grants wishes to young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 who are battling cancer. Nate was the organization's first wish recipient. "It's meant to bring them joy and know that they're loved and that we're fighting for them, too, "Kelli Boehle said. 

Recently, 19-year-old Jordan Morrow received her wish to attend a Taylor Swift concert as part of a trip to Los Angeles. For Morrow, who has spent the last year battling brain cancer, going to the concert has done more than lift her spirits. "I think it's something to get me through whatever comes my way, "she said. "And I'm thankful for Nik's Wish for that. "

In the 11 years since Nik passed away, the organization has granted more than 300 wishes across more than 30 states. In the beginning, Kelli Boehle says she wasn't sure she could be a wish maker and work closely with the young adults. But now, it's her favorite thing to do.

Last year I moved to a new city with my husband and daughter. So during the first months we were busy getting 1 . This place is very different from where I lived before and we had a lot of 2 .

Then things were running 3 due to our efforts. So we decided to conduct a small ceremony at home in 4 of our success in adjusting to the new life. After the simple ceremony, we still had some food 5 . Our daughter suggested that she go with her father and look for someone who 6 all these food.

Hearing the 7 of my daughter, my husband offered to take her in his car to the nearby areas. But after a long time, they 8 to find a suitable one. They were about to return home suddenly when my daughter 9 an old man sitting under a tree. He looked 10 , tired and anxious.

My husband stopped the car and my daughter 11 the man and handed him the food packets. The surprised person looked at my daughter and asked if those item s were for him. When he listened to the 12 answer, he smiled, thanked my daughter a lot and started eating. After a short chat with the man, they went back home happily. The 13 on my daughter's face made me feel 14 a hungry human was a correct thing. It added to our happiness — I had the 15 to conduct an act of kindness.
