The crow's mouth is short and thick. It doesn't drink the water. There are some pebbles near the bottle. The crow puts the pebbles in the bottle. It can drink the water. The crow is very happy.

    In many countries, winter is from December to February. Autumn is 3 months before winter. In the autumn, leaves drop to the ground. Many trees have nuts or fruits. Animals may begin to store food. Some birds collect nuts to store. Other birds fly to a warmer place for the winter. They won't return until the spring. Days become shorter. Cold weather is coming. The fur of many animals gets thick because they need a thick coat to protect themselves. People also wear warmer clothes, because the weather is a little colder. In some places there may be rain or even snow, but in many southern places it is still warm. Autumn is also the time when farmers harvest their crops. People look forward to( 盼望) autumn for many reasons. The most important one is that autumn is the harvest season.

    It's Sunday afternoon. The weather is fine. There is a football match between class 2 and class 4. Many students are watching. They're excited. Now, Zhang Wei has the ball. He passes it to Wei Kun. But Wei Kun can't kick the ball. Then John has the ball. The ball flies to Zhang Wei's arm. Zhang Wei is very angry. The ball files into the goal. How is Zhang Wei feeling? He is so happy! Class 4 won the game. Class 2 is very sad.

    Hans Christian Andersen （1805﹣1875）was the most famous writer in Denmark. His stories have attracted many young readers around the world.

Andersen's father was a poor shoe-maker. As he was very young, Hans was spoilt by his parents and his grandmother. But when he was 11years old, his father died and the boy had to leave school. His mother made a living by washing clothes, while Hans spent a great deal of time making theatre toys and puppets. He reads as many books as he could.

    Andersen published his first tale in 1835, and continued writing until he died. Andersen's words are simple and humor. The stories became popular in the early 1840's, and made Andersen famous more and more. Among the best known of his fairy tales are The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes, A Little Match Girl and so on.

I'm Tom. Jim is my good friend. He's younger than me. But he's much taller. We usually do sports on the weekend. But last Saturday, he was at home and did homework. Because his mother had a cold. Jim cooked breakfast at 7:00. After breakfast, he washed the dishes and cleaned the room. In the afternoon, he took his mother to see the doctor. In the evening, he did homework. Jim was so tired. But his mother was very happy, "Jim, you're helpful. You're a good boy!"
