My parents were in a huge argument, and I was really upset about it. I didn't know who I should talk with about how I was feeling. So I asked Mom to allow me to stay the night at my best friend's house. Though I knew I wouldn't tell her about my parents' situation, I was looking forward to 1. I was in the middle of packing up my things when suddenly the power went out in the neighborhood. Mom came to tell me that I should stay with my grandpa until the power came back on. I was really 2 because I felt that we did not have much to talk about. But I knew he would be frightened alone in the dark. I went to his room and told him that I'd stay with him until the power was restored. He was quite happy and said, “3.”

    “For what?” I asked.

    “To hold a private meeting, just you and I,” he said, “To hold a private meeting about what we're going to do with your mom and dad, and what we're going to do with ourselves 4we're in the situation we are in.”

    “But we can't do anything about it, Grandpa,” I said, surprised that here was someone with whom I could share my feelings and someone who was in the same “boat” as I was.

    Suddenly, the lights all came back on. “Well,” he said, “I guess that means you'll want to go now. I really like our talk. I hope the power will go out every few nights!”

    George Mallory was an English school teacher who loved 1 . In 1924, Mallory and a team of British climbers tried 2 the top of Mount Qomolangma, the highest mountain in the world. No one had ever done it before.

Wang Fa is from Yunnan Province. In late August,2022, the 14- year- old boy. won the men's singles under 14 years old at a tennis junior tour in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

According to him, tennis has changed his life. Wang was among the first group of kids learning to play tennis in Cangyuan. When he was eight, his coach Zhang Xiaohong chose him.

Every day, the children got up at 6:30 am, practised all day and took classes at night. The team travelled to cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu for competitions. Wang's first competition was in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

"I was nervous, because the outside world was so different from my home," he said." But tennis helped me make more friends and get a better education."

On camera, Wang looked confident. He said he wanted to be a professional(专业的) tennis player.

I like travelling with my family.Last summer, I 1 to London with my mum and dad. Before the trip, I had a picture in my head of Big Ben, cute taxis, the River Thames and so on.

London is as 2 as I know it! As soon as I got off the train into St. Pancras Station, I found I was in heaven. You 3 see lots of people from every culture. The taxi drivers spoke 4 this city's English, which was almost like 5 language. When we were walking on streets, we found that 6 many "old" London taxis, just like the ones we see in the films.

I also found that the people were really friendly, for the most part. The city was clean. I watched7 show and it was popular in the country. I took many 8 of the interesting places with my new camera9 I walked along the River Thames. The scenery was just as I saw in all the pictures and films. London is even10 than any other city in the world. I hope to travel to London again sometime in the future.
