The four seasons in Beijing are different. It is dry, windy and sandy in spring and hot and rainy in summer. Autumn is the best season in a year when the sky is blue; the air is fresh, mild(温和的) and humid(潮湿的). However, winter is cold and dry with a little snow. The average temperature throughout a year is 11.7℃. The average temperatures of the hottest month July and the coldest month January change from 27℃ to -4.6℃. If you come to Beijing In spring, you could wear a thin sweater, a pair of pants, and a coat. (B) In summer the temperature could reach as high as 30℃. (C) Autumn is the most beautiful season, but after October the weather changes, so it is better to bring some heavy clothes with you.(D) In winter, you need a heavy woolen sweater, and a long wind coat or a down jacket. Generally there will be two or three heavy snowfalls each winter, so it is always wise for you to have anti-skidding shoes with you when you come. Lastly, don't wear light-colour clothes in winter.
Information for First Time Visitors A. You can collect your tickets from the box offices in the building or from the ticket collection machines. You will need to bring the card you made the booking with to collect your tickets. B. Mondays to Saturdays, 9:30 am to 11:00 pm. We open later on bank holidays, usually from 4:00 pm, and we also open from noon to 6: 00 pm on Sundays. C. Telephone and in-person booking are available between 9:30 am and 8:00 pm. D. The ticket prices can be different from show to show. The lowest ones for adults are usually £12 each. For those who are under 18, the tickets are cheaper-usually£8 each. E. Besides seeing shows, you can attend talks, take backstage tours, see exhibitions, shop in the Bookshop, sit and relax in the cafes and restaurants in the main building to have a cup of coffee, a snack, lunch, or dinner. F. On the South Bank, by the River Thames in London, next to the Southbank Centre and about half-way between the London Eye and Tate Modern. |
