My name is Dan and I have two brothers, Bob and Ray. We like hamburgers for lunch. Bob and I like French fries, but Ray doesn't. I don't like eggs for breakfast, but Bob and Ray do. I like fruit for breakfast. We really like chicken and salad for dinner.

    It is a true story. Once upon a time, one of Alex's horses was stolen by his neighbor. Alex went to the neighbor's home with a policeman to get his horse back. But the neighbor refused to give the horse back. He said that it was his horse.

    Suddenly Alex had a good idea. He put both of his hands over the eyes of the horse and said to the neighbor, “If this is your horse, then you must tell us in which eye the horse is blind.”

    “In the left,” said the neighbor. Alex took his hand from the left eye of the horse and showed the policeman that the horse was not blind in the left eye.

    “Oh, I have made a mistake,” said the neighbor. “He is blind in the right eye.” Alex then showed that the horse was not blind in the right eye, either.

“I have made another mistake,” said the neighbor.

    “Yes,” said the policeman, “and you have also proved that the horse isn't yours. You must give it back to Mr. Alex. ”

    On a sunny day of September, I sat with my friend in a well­known coffee shop in a neighboring town. As we enjoyed our coffee, a young man wearing glasses entered and sat at an empty table beside us. He called the waiter and placed his order, saying, “Two cups of coffee, one of them there on the wall.” We heard this order with rather interest and found that he was served with only one cup of coffee but he paid for two. When he left, the waiter put a piece of paper on the wall, saying “A Cup of Coffee”．

    While we were still there, two other middle­aged men entered and ordered three cups of coffee, two on the table and one on the wall. They had two cups of coffee but paid for three and left. This time also, the waiter did the same. He put a piece of paper on the wall saying, “A Cup of Coffee.” It was something special and perplexing for us. We finished our coffee, paid the bill and left.

    After a few days, we had a chance to go to this coffee shop again. While we were enjoying our coffee, a poorly­dressed man arrived at the shop. As he seated himself, he looked at the wall and said, “One cup of coffee from the wall.” The waiter served coffee to this man as usual. The man had his coffee and left without paying.

    We were amazed to watch all this, as the waiter took off a piece of paper from the wall and threw it into the dustbin. Now it was no surprise for us — what was happening was very clear. The great respect for the men in need shown by the residents(居民) of this town made our eyes in tears.

    More than 2,000 years ago, a favourite wife of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty died of illness. The emperor missed her so much that he didn't want to do anything. One day, a minister (大臣) saw children playing with dolls. The shadows on the floor were interesting. The smart minister had an idea.  He made a puppet of the favourite wife and painted it. As night fell, he asked the emperor to watch a puppet show behind a curtain. The emperor was very happy and became interested in it. In this way, puppet shows began.

    Shadow puppets were first made of paper, later from the hides of donkeys (驴皮). That's why their Chinese name is "pi ying". Shadow puppet plays were very popular during the Tang and Song Dynasties in many parts of China.

    Today, shadow puppet plays face extinction like other traditional art forms such as Nuo Drama. We should do something to protect them. Shadow puppet plays in Shaanxi are the most famous. The Academy Gate Cultural Street in Xi'an is a wonderful place for you to choose shadow puppets. Here you can choose from hundreds of figures (人物) in different sizes and poses(姿势).

    The singers in the show are very good at singing. One of the best singers is Liang Bo. He sang a song named I Love You, China as his final performance and he won the show at last. Let's get to know him. He is from Changchun, Jilin Province. He is tall and handsome. He likes playing the guitar and singing. Many people think he is really good at singing. So they love him and his songs very much. They regard him as a superstar. He wants to be a singer and write his own songs in the future. We are looking forward to his new songs.
