Maybe everyone likes dogs, and almost everyone likes to read stories about dogs.
　  I have a friend. He has a large police dog named Jack. Police dogs are very clever. Every Sunday afternoon my friend takes Jack for a long walk in the park. Jack likes these long walks very much.
　  One Sunday afternoon a young man came to visit my friend. He stayed a long time. He talked and talked. Soon it was time for my friend to take Jack for his walk. But the visitor still stayed. Jack became very worried. He walked around the room several times and then sat down in front of the visitor and looked at him. But the visitor paid no attention to Jack. He went on talking. At last Jack got angry. He went out of the room and came back a few minutes later. He sat down again in front of the visitor, but this time he took the visitor's hat in his mouth. The visitor saw it and was surprised. He laughed and left.

One day, Jack's parents told him that his grandpa would retire (退休) after working for forty years. Jack said in surprise, “I'm only seven, so it means Grandpa has been … err… A really long time!”
His parents said, “Yes. That's why we are going to have a surprise party for him.”
Jack loved his Grandpa and wanted to do something special for him. He remembered the business card his grandpa had given him two years before. He knew that his grandpa would no longer have the position (职位) on that card, so he decided to build a new one for his grandpa.
When the big day came, Jack was ready. But he didn't want to put his gift together with others'. He carried it around with him the whole evening.
When all the other people left, he took his grandpa's hand and brought him over to a chair and gave him the gift.
His grandpa smiled, “Well, it must be a beautiful gift. May I open it now?" "Sure!" Jack said excitedly.
As Grandpa opened the gift, tears came into his eyes. Jack gave him the greatest gift he had ever got! They were business cards with his new position: FULL-TIME GRANDPA! Jack said, “Now your full-time job is my grandpa!”
“Well, how much do I get paid?" his grandpa asked, smiling. "As many hugs (拥抱) as you want!” With these words, Jack gave Grandpa a hug. “Well, I guess that means I'm the richest man in the world!”said Grandpa.

    An eight-year-oldgirl heard her parents talking about her little brother. All she knew was thathe was very sick and they had no money. Only a very expensive operation (手术)could  1 him now and there was no one to lend themthe money.

    When she heard her daddy say to her tearful mother, “Only a miracle (奇迹)can save him now,” the little girl went to her 2 and pulled all her money from itshiding place and counted it 3.

    She hurried to a drugstore（药店）withthe money 4 her hand. 

  “And what doyou want? asked the salesman. “It's for my little brother,” the girlanswered. “He's really, really 5 and I want to buy a miracle.”

  “Pardon?” said the salesman.

  “My brother Andrewhas  6  badgrowing inside his head and my daddy says only a miracle can save him. So howmuch does a miracle 7?”

  “8we don't sell a miracle here, child. I'm sorry,” the salesman said with a smile.

  “Listen, 9 it isn't enough, I can try and get some more. Just tell me 10 it costs.”

    A well-dressedman heard it and asked, “What kind of miracles does your brother need?”

  “I don't know,” she answered with her eyes full of  11. “He's really sick and mum says he needs an operation. But my daddy can't pay for it, so I have brought all my money.”

  “Howmuch do you have?” asked the man. “$ 1.11, butI can try and get some 12 money,” she answered.

  “Well, what a luck” smiled the man.“$ 1.11, the price of a miracle for little brothers.” He took up the girl's hand and said, “Take me to where you live. I want to see your  13 and meet your parents. Let's see if I havethe kind of miracle you need.”

    That well-dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, afamous 14. The operation was 15 and it wasn't long before Andrew was homeagain.

    I always had a nice cup of tea every morning in my country in Indonesia. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

When I arrived in the early morning for the first time at Sydney airport，the first thing that I looked for was a coffee shop. Finally，I found a nice coffee shop with many people queuing(排队) to order. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}Then a very friendly girl asked me if she could help me. I said that I would like to have a cup of tea. The she asked me, "{#blank#}3{#/blank#}"I thought she was making a morning joke with me. So I said "Red tea，please." With a very unfriendly face, she asked me again，"Black or white tea，please？" {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I didn't know what actually black or white tea was. I only knew that having tea is normally with or without sugar.

One day I had a cup of tea at the University tea room. I saw a lady drinking tea with milk in it. Then I asked her，"{#blank#}5{#/blank#}"She smiled and said，"Yes，you can." At that moment, I understood that black tea is no milk added and white tea is with milk. How big is the difference of having tea between Indonesian and Australian people!
