Have you ever paid attention to your school's guards or dining hall staff(员工)?Would you say"Good morning"to your school's cleaners? For Ding Jiacheng, a high school student, it's a problem that many students don't respect these non-teaching workers. He wanted to make a change.

The boy from the Hangzhou Entel Foreign Language School, together with several other students, worked on a project called "The Invisible (隐身的) Are Great". They hoped more students would see and respect those people who play important roles in their school lives. The project won a prize at the China Thinks Big, a competition held by Harvard University and Tsinghua University to encourage teenagers to study social problems.

"My team members and I sent questionnaires (问卷) to about 158 students,"said Ding."In one question, 56 percent of the students said they would greet those non-teaching workers, while only 17 percent strongly believed that every student should do so."

The team also focused on the communication between students and workers.

"When most students follow the rules of their teachers, one-third of the students go against the rules of the dormitory attendants(宿舍管理员)," said Ding."It shows that students treat non-teaching staff differently from teaching staff."

The main reason, according to Ding, is that students know little about the work done by non-teaching staff. Students also have few chances to communicate with them. Therefore, Ding's team shot videos to show staff working around the school. They also held a basketball match between students and non-teaching staff to help them know more about each other."We've also made a series of stickers (贴纸),"said Ding."We hope these cute images will help young people like the non-teaching staff more."

"The activity helped me understand that we can all make a difference through our creative ideas," Ding said.

What does it mean to be green? Green is more than just a color. It also means taking special steps to protect the environment. Buying a green product is a small step everyone can take. Deciding whether a product is green, however, isn't always easy. We need to consider the whole life cycle of the product even after it's of no use. Here is what we may keep in mind.

The materials of a product are usually our first focus (关注). What is it made of? Are there any harmful chemicals in it? Green products are made of more natural materials which are free from harmful chemicals, so they can be good for our physical health.

Packaging is important. How is a product packaged? Is it over packaged? We'd better choose glass, metal and paper packaging, as these can be reused or more easily recycled. We can also look for less packaging or even choose unbagged products whenever possible.

Location (地点) matters. Where was a product produced? Where are we buying it? Think about how much energy was used to get it to us. Try to choose local products. When it comes to food, it is a good idea to order directly from local farmer, shop at markets and buy fruits in season. Buying from stores near our houses is also a good choice, because we can go there without driving a car.

Look into what the company tells us about their products. It's easy to say that a product is "green" or "all natural" but the words may be too good to be true. So much of the information about a product should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, companies try to make us believe that their products are  environmentally responsible.

The greenest thing is certainly the one we don't buy. Things like food and clothing are necessary for life. But many others are not. Better than buying is choosing to leave an unnecessary product in the store and doing without. It sends a message to the producer, keeps money in our pockets, reduces (减 少) waste and keeps the planet healthy.

I have always been fascinated by the animal world. Recently，I read a novel about animals called A Lion's Traveling. Chinese writer Shen Shixi wrote it. 

The book tells the story of five male lions. They are driven out of their home and begin their adventure. Unluckily，one is hurt by a giraffe. Another is killed by a hunter. The third one dies during a fight for water with a rhino（犀牛）. The fourth lion drowns（淹死），named Red Ribbon（红飘带），is still alive. After going through many difficulties

The story shows the love and care between friends，the life and death faced by brothers，the determination（决心），and the passion for life. The fact that the young lion finally becomes the king teaches me a great lesson：Those who cannot beat you will make you stronger. Everyone will face lots of difficulties during their lifetime. We should learn to stay strong and continue to find our best selves. 

The book is filled with exciting details about the lives of lions. Together with vivid pictures，it gives readers an impressive experience. You can not only read the great story but also learn a lot about the animals in the real world. I highly suggest reading it!

The students are having an art lesson at the moment. The teacher asks her students to draw a picture to show their thanks to others. The students draw their pictures carefully, and most of them are about food. But one little boy only draws a hand in his picture. The teacher is surprised(吃惊的) at the boy's picture. Why is there only a hand in it?

Whose hand is it? Nobody knows the answer. So the other students begin to talk about the picture."I think it must be the hand of his mother because she makes him food," says one of the students." It's a farmer's hand," says another(另一个) student." Because farmers plant fruit and vegetables for us." Finally, the teacher asks the little boy whose hand it is.

" It's your hand, Miss Wang. You are so nice to me," the little boy answers," You often take my han d to play games and draw pictures. Your hand is very big and warm. Thank you very much!"

Miss Wang often takes the other students' hands, too. But it is very important to the little boy. That is his thanksgiving(感恩).

Thanksgiving is not a thing or a word. It is a kind of feeling(感受).

I'm Linda. In my home, there's a black and white thing. We call it Xiaodu. When you say " Xiaodu, Xiaodu", it says to you,"I'm here!" When you say" Good morning!" it says," Good morning!" to you.

 In the morning, it is my clock. When it's 7:00, it tells me the time.

 For my mom, Xiaodu is a library. It reads books to her every day.

 My brother is 3 years old. He often asks Xiaodu for help," What's a telephone?"" What's a tape player?"… For him, Xiaodu is a dictionary.

 Xiaodu is our good friend. We love it. Oh, where is it? It's on the TV set now.

Will your mother be angry when you draw pictures on your clothes? The answer must be yes. But Sammy's mum is always happy when Sammy draws pictures on clothes. 

Sammy likes drawing very much. He often draws pictures in his free time. But he has to help his mum in her clothes shop at the weekend. He thinks it is very boring(无聊的) at the shop. 

On a Sunday morning, Sammy feels bored at the shop. Suddenly he gets an idea. " Why not draw some pictures on the T- shirts? They will look more beautiful and many people will buy them. " So he draws a dog on a T- shirt. It's a small brown dog. He draws well but his mum isn't happy. She says, " Sammy, no drawing. "A girl comes to the store. She loves the T- shirt with the dog and she buys it. 

After that Sammy draws lots of pictures on many T- shirts. Sometimes Sammy draws a basketball. Sometimes he draws a bird. Many boys and girls come to the store to buy the T- shirts with the pictures. They like the T- shirts with birds best, so Sammy draws birds most. Sammy and his mum are very happy. Sammy says he likes drawing and it's interesting for him. In the future , he wants to be a great artist(画家).
