Anna's coat is too small. She goes shopping with her mother on Sunday. She wants to buy a new coat. They go into a clothing shop first (首先). Anna finds a green coat in the clothing shop. She likes it very much. She tries it on, but it's too small for her. She wants a big one, but the big one is not green. She isn't happy.

Then she wants to go to another (另一个) shop to have a look. Then they find a new shop. The shop is big. There they see many kinds of coats in different colors and sizes (尺码). Anna tries on a green one. It looks nice on her. Anna is very happy. She takes it for fifty yuan. 

I went to the UK last weekend to lean English. So far I have already had a few friends and had some traditional English food here. But after having three days of hamburgers, sandwiches and potatoes, I thought none could be more delicious than Chinese food, especially my favourite — huoguo. You can't imagine how excited I was when I got to know that there was going to be a free meal of hotpot to welcome the new students. On the way to the canteen, I seemed to smell huoguo in the air.

To my surprise, when I went into the room, I didn't see any sign of huoguo. Where was it? With many questions in my mind, I sat down to have the free meal. After talking with an English girl, I got to know that Chinese huoguo is completely different from hotpot. Chinese huoguo is written in two words — hot pot. However, hotpot, one word, is a traditional English dish.

Hotpot is made from mutton and onion. On the top are pieces of potatoes. People put it in the oven all day in a heavy pot at a low heat. It takes very little effort to prepare. You can often see it at parties in the UK because it's easy to prepare for a large number of people and is not expensive.

Hotpot doesn't taste bad. However, I still miss huoguo, hot pot, two words!

Xiao Pei is a student in Xiaogan, China. She is thirteen years old and she is in Grade Seven this year. She has a friend in India. She gets lots of e-mails from his friend.

In their e-mails, Xiao Pei learns that life of Indian children is difficult. And they don't have money to buy desks for school. She feels sad and wants to help them.

She and her friends collect 2750 yuan. Some Indian teachers help them buy 50 desks. "We have many good things in our country," says Xiao Pei . "We should help others." She also hopes to save money to build a well for them. Then the students can get clean water from it. It may be a good gift for the Indian children.

Wonderful Park has finally reopened after nearly three months of repair! Since my sister Julia's birthday is coming. yesterday my parents took us to the park to have some fun. Julia was very excited as she had never been to Wonderful Park before.

We arrived at the park early in the morning. While we were buying tickets at the ticket office, Julia was told that she could enjoy free admission during her birthday month. She could also get some pin s and stickers for free. Julia was over the moon with her birthday presents. After buying our tickets, Julia wanted to ride the Ferris wheel. However, Mum suggested going to the King's Theatre first as a musical was about to begin.

We were attracted by the delicious smell of popcorn while we were on the way to the King's Theatre. We bought two bags of chocolate popcorn and it tasted good. Before we entered the theatre, there were two cartoon characters standing at the entrance. They were lovable so Julia and I took some photos with them. The show began at ten forty- five. Though I am not a big fan of musicals, it was really great. All the performers sang and danced well. There was a huge round of applause(掌声) when the show ended. Then, we went to the ride. It was the last stop and also the most enjoyable part of our trip.

Here are the photos we took. The first one shows the chocolate popcorn. It was yummy! Next are the photos we took at the entrance of the King's Theatre. The cartoon characters are giving me and Julia a big hug! Here comes the photo that I like best. We took this after we ro de on the Ferris wheel. Dad is putting his arm around Mum's shoulders. Julia is making a V sign with her fingers and I am making a silly face. It is a nice family photo. We all look forward to visiting the park again!

 Charlotte Liebling considers herself a"world watcher" - someone who carefully sees the world around her. When Liebling was in college, she volunteered at a 1 that sold second-hand goods. She saw people bringing objects to donate, including soft toys.

 Liebling knew that the toys held great sentimental (情感的) value for their owners. So she felt 2 when the toys were sold very cheaply, or worse, thrown away.

 One night when Liebling got home from work, she started doing some research. She 3 this wasn't happening only in her town. Millions of toys 4 in landfills(垃圾场) every year in the world."If we can change the idea that soft toys lose their 5 after they' ve been used, then we can show people that these toys still hold important worth and can be passed on to others. That's how the Loved Before Company 6 ," Liebling says.

 When someone wants to donate a soft toy, he can take it to the company. He is encouraged to write down the name of the toy and a story about it. This can include the creature's likes and dislikes, and an adventure it's been on. Liebling believes that sharing what makes the toy 7 helps new owners understand its value. Then the toy is cleaned, photographed, and packed 8 with its name and story. Every Monday, Liebling 9 the toys on the Loved Before website.

 Since the company started in 2019, Loved Before has sold more than 50, 000 soft toys. But the company's 10 is more than"just trying to save some toys from landfills," Liebling says. "We hope to teach kids about the value of loving second-hand things again."

A loud noise wakes Jan up suddenly. She looks at the alarm clock beside the bed. 

It's five o'clock. Then she hears the noise again. It's thunder(雷). Then she hears a different noise. It's the sound of something hitting the window. She gets up and goes to the window. She can see Tom standing outside in the rain. He's shouting at Jan, telling her to come outside. 

Jan gets dressed, puts on her anorak and goes downstairs quietly，trying not to wake Tom's parents. 

"What are you doing, Tom?"

"The storm, " he says. "It's the same storm as Thursday night. Let's go to the tree. Maybe you can go home!"

Jan follows Tom down the road then she remembers something. 

"The time capsule!"

Tom shows her the biscuit tin under his jacket. "I've got it. " And now maybe there's the possibility she can return to the future. Soon they come to the river and then the old building. They run up the path through the trees and arrive at the piece of land with the apple tree. 

"Now what do we do?" asks Jan. 

"I put the time capsule back where I found it and. "

Tom uses his hands to dig a hole by the tree. He buries the time capsule and then stands up. 

Jan suddenly thinks of something. 

"Tom! I wanted to give you something from the time capsule. "

"No. I don't want anything. It's more important for you to go home. "

Jan feels sad that Tom doesn't want something to remember her. But he's right. The important thing is to get home. 

"I'm never going to forget you, Tom. Thanks. You're a real friend. "

"Bye, Jan. Look for me in the future. Promise?"

"I promise. "

Then he turns and runs back to the trees. Jan watches his shadow disappear into the trees.
