There are many kinds of animals that live in the forest, such as mice, rabbits, squirrels, bears.

    Animals in the forest depend on（依靠）one another for food. Many small forest animals, such as mice, eat green plants for food, and then larger animals eat them. This is called food chain. A food chain begins with the sun. The green plants in the forest use the sun's energy to make food for themselves. It's called photosynthesis(光合作用). Mice eat flowers and seeds that forest plants produce(生产).The mice get their energy from the plants, and the mice become food for a larger animal, such as the hunting hawk. So the energy from the sun passes from the plants to the mice to the hawk. A break（中断）in any part of this food chain means some animals may not have enough food to eat.

But you don't {#blank#}4{#/blank#} spend money to pay for it forward. There are examples of paying it forward {#blank#}5{#/blank#}like volunteering, giving food to the poor or doing something nice for someone. 

The popularity of online fitness (健身) increased greatly. The number of people using fitness apps has risen rapidly. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Even though people exercise separately at home, they often do it together through the Internet. Online fitness allows people to exercise at any time and anywhere without going to a gym (体育馆) or a fitness center.

According to a report from Douyin, the number of fitness videos in 2021 increased by 134 percent, while followers of fitness trainers went up by 208 percent compared with the year before. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} These trainers do a great job in both teaching and leading people to exercise more.

In the past, TV exercise programs were popular, but now online fitness videos have made exercising even more popular because they are easy to learn. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} He started an online fitness course to teach people how to exercise at home, and now his fans call him the "personal trainer champion (冠军)".

Getting the joke

Thinking in silence

Humans think about things without language all the time, and only report their thoughts in the language when they have time to do so. You can test this with a game. Read a word quickly, out loud or in your head. You'll find that while you're doing this, you won't be able to think with words, but you can still plan, reason and imagine, pretty much as normal. 

Smart minds

Just because humans don't need language to think, it doesn't mean that words don't help us. The real magic of language is that it allows people to share their thoughts with others. This means you don't have to face the world by yourself-you can learn from ideas created by the elderly. This lets humans develop science and technology, laws and stories. People can think without language, but language makes humans so smart. 

 There are several Chinese sayings that are similar to" how time flies". Ancient Chinese compared time to many things.

 One of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( popular) sayings is probably"光阴似箭, 日月如梭( Time flies by like an arrow; Days and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ( month) flash by as fast as a weaver's shuttle.)" It is easy {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( understand) the" arrow" part. All of us know {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fast arrows are. What about a weaver's shuttle?

In ancient times, many Chinese people made a living by growing crops (庄稼) and weaving cloth(织布). Nearly every family {#blank#}5{#/blank#} ( have) a loom(织布机). A shuttle is a tool on the loom that moves {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( quick) when someone is weaving. Since it was so often seen, ancient Chinese used it in this saying.

 Another popular Chinese saying {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the passing of time is"白驹过隙". It means that time flies by like a white horse running past a crack (缝隙) in a wall. The saying comes from {#blank#}8{#/blank#} book called Zhuangzi. In this book, it is said that Confucius came to Laozi to ask about the ultimate(终极的) truth of the universe. Laozi told Confucius that a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( person) life was as quick as"a white horse running past a crack". One's body would die, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} his or her spirit could live on forever.

 Students all over the world like sports. There are many kinds of sports. Many students like to play them. 

 In China, students like playing ping-pong best. They often play it after class. They like basketball and volleyball, too. But they are busy at school, so they don't often play sports. 

 In the USA, students play sports every day. They often play basketball. But soccer is their favourite sport. They like swimming and running, too. They think sports are great. 

 In the UK,      ▲      . Watching football games on TV is their favorite. They often play sports with their family or friends on Saturdays and Sundays. They like sports very much.
