Last Sunday I saw the worst storm in years. It came suddenly and went on for more than three hours. After lunch, I went into my room to have a Rest. The air was hot, and all was quiet.

    The strong wind started blowing into my room. Pieces of paper on my desk flew high into the air and some flew out of the open window. As I ran out to catch them, big drops of rain began to fall.

    When I came back into the house, it has raining harder and harder. I tried very hard to close the window. Then I heard a loud sound from the back of the house. I ran out of my room to find out what it was a big tree had fallen down and broke the top of the back room.

    Most American families are smaller than the families in other countries. Children in the USA will leave their parents when they grow up. They usually live far from their parents because they want to find good jobs. They often write to their parents or telephone them. And they often go to visit their parents on holidays.

    Parents usually let their children choose their own jobs. Americans think it is important(重要的) for them to make decisions(作决定).

    Children are also asked to do some housework at home. And in many families，children will get money from their parents for doing some housework. Because American parents want to let their children learn how to make money for their own use.

    I am Jack. I live near our school. So I can go to school on foot. But sometimes I go by bike. Because it's so much fun. My father works in our school. We go to school together. On the weekends，I often play with my friend, Mike. We usually play ping-pong, sometimes we play chess. This weekend, I'm going to visit my grandparents. Because it's my grandma's birthday.

    A young mother and her little girl get on a bus and sit down. The bus conductor(售票员) comes to ask them to buy the tickets. The mother says, "I want one ticket to Children's Park." The conductor looks at the little girl and says to her, "How old are you?" The girl answers, "Mother says I am four years old at home, but I'm two years old on the bus." The young mother's face turns red, very red. Then she buys one adult ticket and a child's ticket.

    Long long ago, there was a little mouse. On a sunny morning, the mouse rode a bike to the park. On his way to the park, he met a big fat cat. He was very afraid of the cat. So he rode his bike away. However(然而），his bike broke. He had to take a bus home. When he got home, he was very hungry. He ate a bowl of noodles and drank a cup of milk. He broke the cup just after drinking the milk. So, he had to clean the floor. When he was cleaning the floor, his grandma came.

    He was very happy to see his grandma. His grandma cooked him a very delicious dinner. After dinner, they took a long walk in the park. However, they saw a snake there and ran away at once. When they went back home, they were very tired. They took a bath and then went to bed.
