It is on Sunday morning. The sun is shining. We have no classes. We are playing in the park. Some girls are singing and dancing under a big tree. Some boys are climbing the hill. Tom is drawing by the lake. Mike and John are swimming in the lake. Where are Betty and Mary? They are sitting under a small tree. They are reading a picture book. We are very happy.

    Lingling likes English very much. She works hard. She reads English every morning. She likes speaking English. She often listens to the radio. She watches TV only on Sunday evening. She likes dancing. But she doesn't like drawing. Her parents like her very much. All the teachers and her friends like her, too.

    Min and Mog get up at seven o'clock in the evening. They have dinner at half past seven. They like eating fish. At eight o'clock, they start to work. They catch a lot of mice. The mice are afraid of them. Min and Mog have breakfast at six o'clock in the morning. They go to bed at half past six in the morning. They are tired.

    The winter vacation is coming. I am going to read some books about Canada, because I am going there to meet my pen pal, Ted.

    I hear there is a lot of snow in Canada, so I want to learn to ski. Ted is a skiing fan and he is going to teach me. I think it will be hard, but I want to have a try!

    I am excited! A wonderful winter vacation is waiting for me.

    Mike is a little boy, and he doesn't like washing hands. Three or four times(次) every day his mother says to him, "Mike, your hands are very dirty(脏的). Go and wash them." But Mike never washes them well. He only puts his hands in the water and soon takes them out. Mike's uncle and aunt live in another city. One day, they come to see Mike's parents, and they take their small son, Ted, with them. Ted is one year younger than Mike, and he doesn't like soap(肥皂) or water, either.

    The boys sit with their parents for a few minutes(几分钟), and then they go out. When they are alone(单独的), Mike looks at Ted's hands and says proudly(自豪地), "My hands are dirtier than yours!"

     "Of course they are," Ted says. "You are older than I am."
