It's very important(重要的) for us to be healthy. Now I'll tell you how I can be healthy. I often eat fruit and vegetables. I don't like to eat hamburgers. They are not good for my health. I have a balanced diet. Many foods are important, such as rice, meat, eggs, vegetables and fruit. I like to eat apples. As the saying(谚语) says, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” And I also like doing sports. I like running in the morning. I play basketball in the afternoon with my friends. And sometimes I play ping­pong with my family at the gym on Saturdays. I think I'm healthy and strong. What about you?

    Mr and Mrs Green's house is far from the city. There are no big shops near their home. So they only go shopping at weekends.

    One Saturday morning, Mr and Mrs Green go shopping with their son, Tom. Mr Green drives the car to a big shop. It sells clothes. Mrs Green likes them. So she chooses a dress and tries it on. It looks great on her. She buys it for herself. Then she buys a shirt for her son and a sweater for her husband. After that, they go to a supermarket to buy some food and fruit.

    At about eleven o'clock, they all feel hungry. They have their lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, they want to go home. But they cannot find their way. Mr Green drives over to a woman and asks, "Excuse me, could you tell me where I am now?" The old woman looks at him and the car, "You are in your car, sir," she answers.

    I'm Chen Jie. I am from China. My birthday is July 20^th. I usually get up early on my birthday. My parents and friends give me many presents. I don't go to school on my birthday, because I am on summer vacation. Usually I have a birthday party. We have a big dinner and eat a birthday cake and ice cream. We sing, dance, watch TV and play computer games at the party. In the evening, my family goes to the beach. Because it's usually very hot. I have a good time on my birthday.

    A young man goes to the city and buys himself a pair of socks. When he comes back home, he goes to his room and tries them on. He finds they are in different colours. One is blue and the other is green. He goes into the kitchen. His mother and his sister are cooking dinner. He says to them, "The new socks are in different colours. I should make them in the same colour. Would you like to do this for me?" His mother and sister are busy and they don't say anything. When his mother finishes cooking, she goes to her son's room and makes the green sock in blue. She comes back without saying a word to her son. After supper, his sister goes to her brother's room and makes one blue sock in green without saying anything to anyone.

    The rhinoceros, often known as the rhino, is one of the world's largest animals. It is also one of the endangered animals. For many years people have hunted them for their horns.

    Today only five species of rhinos survive: the Black, the White, the Indian, the Javan and the Sumatran. They are found mainly in Africa and Southern Asia.

    Rhinos are plant-eating mammals. They eat tree bark, vines and grass. Rhinos have good hearing but poor eyesight. They sleep most of the day.

    Rhinos do not like humans. A rhinoceros can live for up to 60 years or more.
