    Mr. Miller comes from America. He has two children, Dave and Anna. They live in Hangzhou now. Mr. Miller can speak Chinese. (1)He can do Chinese kung fu. Mr. Miller can swim and write stories. But Mrs. Miller can draw and play Chinese chess. They go swimming and play chess. On Sunday morning, Mr. Miller does Chinese kung fu. Dave and Anna like playing the guitar.     Lots of people make it as their aim to get to the top of Mount Qomolangma.Mark is one of them.The difference between Mark and other climbers is that he lost both his legs when climbing New Zealand's highest mountain,Mount Cook.He was caught in a big ice hole and he had to have his legs cut below the knees after he was saved.But that couldn't make Mark lose heart, who has become the first person with man-made legs to reach the top of Mount Qomolangma.

    From the top of the world's highest mountain,Mark called his wife to say he made it.His wife,Anne,got the phone when she was sleeping.She could hardly believe it.Because she knew how hard it would be for Mark to reach the top.She said his“legs”didn't work well sometimes,so her husband was carrying a spare leg and repair tools.

    Mark was a mountain guide before his accident.He said it was not important that no one bad ever reached the 8844-neter mountain like him.“I'm not doing this to be the first.I have been climbing most of my life and I just feel Mount Qomolangma is really a great aim.I want to prove that I can do anything better.”So if you have a dream, just work hard and go for it no matter how difficult it is.

    We are a bit afraid when we talk about the A/H1N1 flu(甲型H1N1流感).

    Flu

    The A/H1N1 flu sounds really scary and some people died of it. ⑶It is difficult for us to stop it. But it works like other kinds of flu. We catch it in the same way, and we can protect ourselves from the flu in some similar ways.

    ★Pandemic(大流行病)

    The A/H1N1 flu is a pandemic. ⑷The word "|pandemic" sounds like millions of people might die. But that's not what it means at all!

    The pandemic spreads(传播)over a whole country or the whole world. It doesn't mean a high death rate(比率), but just only large groups of people in the world may get it.

    Mask(口罩)

    A mask just keeps a person from breathing in the virus(病毒)that might be breathed out by someone. Wearing a mask isn't a bad idea, but it doesn't mean that the flu is much more dangerous than other kinds of flu.
