My grandpa is over 70 years old. I like {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  with him. He used to live in a mountain village when he was young. Every morning he had to get up early and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the animals. There was no TV set then, and there was no delicious food to eat.He always says we are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} than they were. But I don't think so. Because we have too much {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and too many exams every day. Do you agree {#blank#}5{#/blank#}me ?   

    An old saying goes, “When in Rome(罗马),do as the Romans do.” I learned the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of this when I studied in Russia.

    One day I invited some of my Chinese friends to a famous local restaurant in Moscow. My guests and I were {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  from visiting Red Square and happy about our meeting. We had a warm  chat  until  the  waiter  told  me  that  we  were  being  too  loud.  We  turned  our  voices {#blank#}3{#/blank#} .But this didn't last long. The waiter came over to us two more {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  with the same message.

    How bad an impression(印象) we must have left on the local people! In China, it's {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  and important for a host to make a {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  atmosphere(气氛).However, in Russia and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  countries, having a meal in a public place means you must keep your voice low. You need to be polite to others.

    I felt bad about this. Even though we tried our {#blank#}8{#/blank#} , it's very difficult to develop a new habit.

    Russians have their own special habits. My Russia friend, Andrey always looks around and thinks for a while before leaving home. I asked him why he did this. “Aha,” Andrey said, “in Russia, people always take about a minute {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  over things and plans in their minds before leaving. So they won't leave anything necessary behind.”

    Finding the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  between cultures is much fun. I'd like to keep my eyes and mind open.

    Charlotte Simmonds is a 17-year-old student from Sydney, Australia. Charlotte spends most of her flee time on the beach {#blank#}1{#/blank#}she is also a surf(冲浪) life saver. Her job is to save {#blank#}2{#/blank#} on the beach or in the water, but she doesn't get any money {#blank#}3{#/blank#}this. When she grows up, she {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to work as a life saver on some of the most famous surf beaches in the world.

    Charlotte joined a surf life savers' club with her older brother and sister when she was {#blank#}5{#/blank#}five years old. "We lived near the beach but my parents were Very{#blank#}6{#/blank#}in their shop, so they didn't have time to play with us. Joining the club was a great Way to meet other {#blank#}7{#/blank#} keep healthy and most importantly, we could spend hours on the beach. We {#blank#}8{#/blank#}to swim and surf at an early age. At the age of 15, I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}a surf life saver and soon after that I saved somebody in the water."

    Charlotte loves helping people on the beach. "Everybody can see {#blank#}10{#/blank#}on the beach because we wear red and yellow hats, shirts and shorts: If you can't see us, that means we can' t see you, So maybe you aren't safe," she said.

    Neil Armstrong is the first man to walk on the moon. He took his {#blank#}1{#/blank#} flight at six and received his pilot's license at 16. In 1949, Neil {#blank#}2{#/blank#}the navy(海军) and served as a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. He was chosen to be {#blank#}4{#/blank#} astronaut in 1962. Four years later, he {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to join two spacecrafts together in space.

    Then the big day came. On 20th July 1969, he landed Apollo on the Moon together {#blank#}6{#/blank#} Aldrin. Neil said the {#blank#}7{#/blank#} words "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" on the Moon. They became heroes {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they returned with many Moon {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. Neil was presented the Medal of Freedom, the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} award that a US citizen can receive because of his excellent service.
