The students were having their chemistry (化学)class. Miss Li was telling the children what water is like. After that, she asked her students, “What's water? ” No one spoke for a few minutes. Miss Li asked again, “Why don't you answer my question? Didn't I tell you what water is like? ”

    Just then a boy put up his hand and said, “Miss Li, you told us that water has no colour and no smell. But where to find such kind of water? The water in the river behind my house is always black and it has a bad smell.” Most of the children agreed with him.

    “I'm sorry, children,” said the teacher, “our water is getting dirtier. That's a problem.”

    Tom is on the bus. He is looking out the window of the bus. There is a baby and her mother sitting behind Tom. The baby is crying. She is loud. There is a man and his son sitting in front of Tom. They are talking. Tom is going to see his grandmother and grandfather. He loves them very much.

The girls like reading and singing. Miss Liu is my English teacher. Her English is very good. She can sing English songs well. Her eyes are big and her hair is long. She's nice. We all like her very much.

    I have a beautiful house. There is a bike in front of the house. We have a big tree. My grandparents are under the tree. They have a rest. In my house, there is a photo on the wall. Our cute dog is behind the door. The table is between two chairs.

    Bill's room is not big. There is a small table by the window. There are two bottles of orange juice and a glass of milk on the table. Bill is drinking some tea. Near the table there's a bed. Bill's sister is reading a book on the bed. On the wall there's a picture. There are some students outside the window. The boys are playing games, and the girls are singing. They're very happy.

Sam: Mum, I'm hungry! I'd like some eggs and milk.

Sarah: Mum, I'd like some bread,

Mum: OK! Here you are.

Sarah & Sam: Thank you!

Sarah: Mum, can I have some juice, please?

Mum: Sure. Here you are.

Sarah: Mum, have some bread and juice!

Mum: No, thank you. I'd like some bread and milk.

Sarah: Oh, it's 7:30. Let's go to school!
