    It is real a good chance to have met all of you here. We have spent several precious weekend in learning in the English Club.     Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which our old buildings, as well as many other similar ones, should be going to be pulled away to make room for a main street. So they had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautiful park. His apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area.     How is everything with you recently? I'm very exciting because I have applied for a holiday job, taught English conversation in a teacher training college near Shanghai.     Like most of my schoolmate, I have neither brothers nor sisters — in any other words, I am an only child. My parents love me dear of course and will do all they can to make sure that I get a good education. They did not want me to do any work at family. They want me to devote all my time to my studies so that I'll get good marks in all my subject. We may be one family and live under a same roof, but we do not seem to get much time to talk about together. It looks as if my parents treat me as a visitor and a guest. Do they really understand their own daughter? What things are in other homes, I wonder.

    Today our class went out to do some clean. We gathered at the school gate and started out early on the morning. Some collected the rubbishes in the park. Some cleared the old posters off the walls and another swept the street. We hoped to make our city more beautifully with our own hands.     As we all know, chances favored the prepared mind. I learned this from one of my experience.

    I was not chosen as member of the volleyball team of our school. Because of this, I decided to give up play volleyball. Luckily, my best friend stopped me but pointed out that it was my laziness and poor preparation which led to my failure. After that, I practiced playing volleyball on every day. When another tryout arrived, I was full prepared and tried my best. As a result, I was selected and became an important player on our school team.

    From this, I am firmly convincing that we are able to seize a chance as long as I get well prepared.
