Vienna is a beautiful old city on the River Danube in the center of Europe. It's the capital city of Austria and the center of European classical music. In the 18th century a lot of musicians came to study and work in Vienna.

    In the Strauss family, there were two composers called Johann Strauss: the father and the son. The father, Johann Strauss the elder, wrote and played music for traditional dances, called the waltz. His dance music made him famous all over Europe. The son, Johann Strauss the younger, was also very successful and popular. He wrote over 150 waltzes. In 1866 he wrote The Blue Danube waltz.

    Mozart was another very important composer. He was born in Austria in 1756. Before he was six, he played not only the piano but also the violin. His family took him around Europe and he gave concerts in many cities. He wrote hundreds of wonderful pieces of music. But he became very poor and died in 1791 when he was only 35. Like Johann Strauss, father and son, he was a great European musician, and many people still think his music is perfect.

One country (国家) that I really want to visit is Vietnam. In fact, I‘ve never been to Asia (亚洲). But I‘ve seen a lot of photos and videos of Vietnam online and it looks really beautiful. I think I can take relaxing boat rides around the small islands there. Also, I've heard that the food there is really nice!

Monday! Oh, I don't like Monday because I'll have to go back to school again after the weekend. On weekdays, I have to get up at 6:30 in the morning and go to bed at 9o' clock in the evening

Tuesday is not so bad. I usually play tennis with my friends after school.

On Wednesday evening I don't go on. I stay with at home and do my homework.

I like Thursday because I have a P. E. class on Thursday.

I always go out on Friday night. I often go to my friends' house. Sometimes I go to the cinema.

I love the weekend. On Saturday I stay in bed until lunch time, and I sometimes go to the shops in the afternoon. In the evening I go for a walk with my parents in a park after dinner.

Then on Sunday I go to my friends' house or they come to mine. I usually visit my grandmother for an hour in the afternoon. Then the weekend is over and it's Monday. And I feel bad again!

I used to be very shy, so I usually just listened to other people's conversations. My teacher Mrs. Smith always encouraged me to communicate with others.

 One day, she told us that our class would put on a play she had written. "I need someone to play the lead role. Does anyone want to try?" she asked. A few excited hands were raised up— mine wasn't one of them. Mrs. Smith walked up to me and said," I think you' re perfect for it."

Me, the lead? Mrs. Smith continued," I was thinking of you for the role when I wrote the play!" Suddenly, I thought it was time to throw away my shyness and show the world who I really was. I looked at Mrs. Smith and said," OK, I'll try."

After five months of practicing, the big day finally arrived. I felt so nervous. My knees shook and my heart beat like I'd just run a mile." It doesn't matter how you do tonight," said Mrs. Smith, as if reading my thoughts." You've already shown yourself how wonderful you are. That's the most important thing for you."

Mrs. Smith was right. When I stepped on the stage(舞台), I showed that I could take chances(机会) and be brave enough to make a big change for myself — a girl with new- found confidence(信心). I thanked Mrs. Smith a lot. She helped me to change by encouraging me to act the lead role of the play. It was a great experience and I'll never forget it.

My name is Peter. I live in a small village in the west of Guangdong Province. In my village, there aren't many cars 1 buses, and the streets are clean. I know all the neighbors（邻居）, and at the end of the day we get together and have a chat. We go to bed early because there 2 much to do in the evening. There aren't any theaters, cinemas, museums or clubs. But the 3 can play in the streets or in nature（大自然）. They can also keep animals at home. There is no noise（噪音）. We can hear a lot of beautiful sounds from nature. In the evening, we can see lots of clear and beautiful stars in the sky. 

My pen friend Ken lives in a big city. The city has a much 4 population. It was a small village 5 , but now it is famous 6 its modern workplaces. It has better schools, nicer shops and 7 of cinemas, theaters and museums. Children can go to clubs and parks to enjoy 8 . I went to the city to visit Ken last month. He took me to a shopping center and we bought some nice gifts for my family. For example, I bought 9 cool T-shirt for my dad. 

"Which is better, the city or the village?" many of my classmates asked me when I came back. I'm not sure, but I know that I like the clean streets, 10 neighbors and fresh air in my village. What about you? 

Taihang Grand Canyon National Forest Park is a natural wonder. It lies in the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} part of Huguan County. There are some sweet springs, silver chains—like waterfalls, deep pools, clear streams, interesting karst caves and forests spreading all over the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

I always remember the journey to go there. In the early morning, we began to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the canyon. At first the canyon was silent. With more and more people coming, the canyon became noisy. There were so many trees and we didn't know most of them. Some signs along the paths told us something about different sights. We heard the loud waterfalls {#blank#}4{#/blank#} we were far away from them. When we got near, we {#blank#}5{#/blank#} cool at once. The waterfalls were high and pretty. We also visited some other sights and had great fun there.
