One day, Jim was driving a taxi through a busy street. 1, a young man stopped his car and 2 his taxi. "To the station, hurry up!" he said. Jim did his 3, but at every crossing there was a red light. The young man shouted, "Be 4! I don't want to miss the train." Jim shouted back, "I don't want to die here!"

    At that time he turned back and noticed the young man's face. "Oh, he is 5 thief," He thought, "I saw his face in the newspaper."  6, Jim had an idea. He drove 7 the red light, and found a police car running 8 him. "Stop!" The young man said and jumped 9. Jim caught hold of him and cried, "Give me the money!" Just then, two policemen came on. "He is the 10," Jim said. They caught the young man at once.

    "You did a good job. Thank you!" the policemen said to Jim.

    Thirteen years ago, my sister, a very beautiful girl, was born. _1_, we were later told that this little girl, who was three and a half months premature（早产的）, would only have 14 days on the earth. It's hard to understand what kind of 2you have when you find out that you're losing something that you don't even know.

    As time went on, the number of days kept growing, which gave us hope. When the doctors said that we could take her home, that was when reality（现实）hit. We had no 3_.

    I am from a small town with small hospitals, but when you don't have money, you just don't have it. My mother tried for days to get the money, but nothing _4 each time. A caseworker was doing her best. It's5that it almost felt as if we had to 6a baby from the hospital.

    One day the caseworker walked into her boss's office to try again. As she walked out. Feeling 7again, out of nowhere a man walked up to her. He 8her a bag of money and said, “Please give this to the lady in need, so she can take her daughter home.” She looked 9_at her hand with tears in her eyes. As she looked up to thank him, he was gone. They searched all over that hospital and he was nowhere to be found.

    Thanks to the guy that I will 10_ know, we could take that beautiful baby girl home, and celebrate her 13^th birthday yesterday. I am thankful to this man and feel that his act of kindness should be shared with everyone.

    When I was in the third grade, I was picked to be the princess( 公主) in the school play. For weeks my mother helped me practice. I did very well at home, but once on stage(舞台) ,every word1from my head. One day, my teacher told me she had written a narrator's(叙述者) part for the play , and asked me to change 2 I didn't tell my mother what had happened that day, 3she sensed my unhappiness and asked if I wanted to take a walk in the yard.

    It was a lovely spring day. We could see golden dandelions (蒲公英) everywhere. "I'm going to 4all these wild plants," my mother said. "From now on, we'll have only roses in this garden."

    "But I like dandelions," I said. "All flowers are 5even dandelions ！"

    My mother looked at me 6. "Yes. Every flower gives pleasure in its own way, doesn't it?" she asked thoughtfully. I nodded. "And that is true of people, too," she added. "Not everyone can be a princess, but there is no 7 in that." When I realised that she had guessed my pain, I started to cry and told her what had happened.

    She listened and smiled. "But you will be a beautiful narrator," she said, reminding (使想起) me of how much I 8 to read stories aloud to her.

Two days2the doctor came and looked over the sick man. 3asked for a pen and a piece of paper to write down the name of the medicine. But there was no pen4paper in the village, because no one could write.

    The doctor5 up a piece of burnt wood from the fire and wrote the name of the medicine on the6 of the house. " Get this medicine for him, " he said, "and he will soon get 7. "Mark's family and friends did not know 8 to do. They could not read the strange words. Then a young man 9an idea. He took off the door of the house, put it on his carriage(马车) and drove to the nearest 10. He bought the medicine there, and Mark was soon well again.

    One day a boy 1his home to find the Bird of Happiness. He 2the bird to bring warmth, flowers and trees to his village.

    Before long, he met a monster(怪兽) with a black beard(胡子) The monster asked him 3he was going. The boy told him. "I'll tell you where it is," the monster said, "but you must kill someone for me. If you don't, I'll take away all your food and drink. "The boy 4, so the monster took all of them away.

    Before long, the boy was very 5and thirsty. Then he met a monster with a white beard. "I'll tell you where the Bird of Happiness is," the monster said, "but you must blind someone 6 me. If you don't, I'll blind you. "The boy refused, and the monster blinded him.

    At last, the boy reached the top of the mountain where the Bird of Happiness lived. He lay before the bird, near death.

    Then the bird touched his eyes and he could 7again. The bird fed him, built up his strength and carried him home. 8the bird landed in the boy's 9, the countryside all around turned green. Flowers and other plants grew and everyone lived in peace. It was all 10the brave boy brought the Bird of Happiness home to them.
