Recently I learned from the newspaper that normal universities（师范大学） {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (belong) to the Education Department would recruit（招收）some students free. As {#blank#}2{#/blank#} return, the students must serve as a primary school teacher for 10 years in his or her hometown. I feel that is good news for me and I'll contact the universities to get {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (admit). First of all, as a farmer's child, my family's living condition is not so good {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I can not afford the high tuition of regular universities. I'm so happy to get the chance {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (become) a college student {#blank#}6{#/blank#} then continue my study. Secondly, serving as a teacher is my dream since I was a child. I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} （bring) up in a mountain village. Many of my little friends got poor education and they had to get to work as a teenager. Maybe it was Joseph's firefighter training that allowed him to think, and act, so quickly, but it's certain that he saved a man's life that day without once{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(think)about his own well-being.

    Texting while crossing the street will soon{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(ban)in Honolulu, Hawaii. From October {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, you could be fined if you step into a Honolulu street while looking at your phone. Honolulu is the first major U. S. city that passed a law,{#blank#}3{#/blank#}says, "No pedestrian shall cross a street or highway while viewing a mobile electronic device."

    The law {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(include) all electronic devices with screens: cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, digital cameras and laptop computers. The law does permit {#blank#}5{#/blank#}exception. Pedestrians may use such devices in the street to call emergency services and rescue workers, such as firefighters and police {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(officer).

The number of pedestrian deaths in 2017{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(rise) to 6,000, 11% higher than in 2016.

    We use flowers as messengers to say something we might have trouble {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (say) directly ourselves. Over time flowers have come to symbolize the most {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (power) human experiences: beauty, love, hope, and rebirth. Sweet flowers alone can say what one {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (fear) expressing. We've listed some of the most famous flowers that have an important meaning. Red roses mean “I love you.” A red rose, rather than yellow roses, acts as the traditional romantic gift{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (give) to your love on Valentine's Day. Sending yellow roses can be risky, as they represent either friendship {#blank#}10{#/blank#} envy.

    Wallace's giant bee is the world's {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (large) bee, with a body the size of a human thumb and wings that can spread to about 2.5 inches. That may sound {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (frighten), but the bee isn't likely to hurt anyone. It uses its large jaws (嘴) to collect a sticky goo, called resin, from trees. The bee {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (make) its home in termite mounds (白蚁丘) found on trees, using the resin to protect its nest from the termites. Until recently, the bee had been seen by scientists only {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (two), once in 1868 and again in 1981.

    For thousands of years, doctors {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (recognize) that childbirth can have a big effect on a woman's mind and body. Many women experience a time of sadness {#blank#}2{#/blank#} they give birth to a baby. This is called the baby blues, or postnatal depression.

    Doctors do not know the exact cause of postnatal depression. But they believe that an imbalance of brain chemicals {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (be) probably the cause.     Some medicines, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (call) anti-depressants, can help to treat postnatal depression. But these medicines may cost a lot of money. And not all people can get them. However, there are ways that women may be able to treat and recover from these sicknesses without medicine.
