In ancient China the kite was known as “Zhiyuan“. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (original) regarded as a technology, it also featured in many art collections, and was considered to have unique artistic value. It first {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (appear) in the ware of the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC—476BC). According to historical records. Mo Zi spent three years {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(construct) a wooden kite which failed after one day's flight. One book noted that the master carpenter Lu Ban also made some which {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(use) to spy on the situation of the enemy.

    Now the basic procedure of making kites remains the same, but {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(style) of kite-making vary in different regions. These in the “World Kite Capital” of Weifang in Shandong Province are well known for{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(they) craftsmanship, materials, painting, sculpture and flexible flying movement. One of these kites, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}was over 300 meters long, won first place in the International Kite Festival {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(hold) in Italy. It is now housed in the Weifang Kite Museum. Even year, the festival is held there and is expected to draw many fans with a passion for flying kites.

    We travelled to Zimbabwe not long ago.  Before we started, we'd been warned not just by one person,{#blank#}1{#/blank#}by many people.

    The day we crossed the famous bridge over Victoria Falls to Zimbabwe we {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (greet) by friendly border agents and the border police waved us on our way with a smile. We started to give a second thought to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} warning we'd been given.

    The first day we took the backroads(乡村小道)to Binga, a place that was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (former)a popular destination for those looking to rent houseboats and go fishing on the lake. The next day we drove on single track roads through remote villages. Villagers would stop and stare as we drove by, as {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (see) tourists in this area was {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (rare) than a blue moon. The road conditions continued to worsen, but the {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(beautiful) of the region grew too. We climbed up and down the mountains and valleys {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(fill) with native birds and wildlife.

    We pulled into Kariba where the lake ends and the Zambezi River continues.{#blank#}9{#/blank#} it is just a small town in Zimbabwe, it brings people a lot. We felt that Zimbabwe had treated {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(we) nicely-it would be hard to leave.

    Last October, while tending her garden in Mora, Sweden, Lena Pahlsson pulled out a handful of small {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(carrot) and was about to throw them away. But something made her look closer, and she noticed a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(shine) object. Yes, there beneath the leafy top of one tiny carrot was her long-lost wedding ring.

    Pahlsson screamed {#blank#}3{#/blank#} loudly that her daughter came running from the house. "She thought I had hurt {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(I)," says Pahlsson.

    Sixteen years {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (early), Pahlsson had removed the diamond ring {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (cook) a meal. When she wanted to put the ring back on later, it was gone. She suspected that one of her three daughters — then ten, eight, and six—had picked it up, but the girls said they hadn't. Pahlsson and her husband {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (search) the kitchen, checking every corner, but turned up nothing. "I gave up hope of finding my ring again," she says. She never replaced it.

    Pahlsson and her husband now think the ring probably got {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (sweep) into a pile of kitchen rubbish and was spread over the garden, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} it remained until the carrot's leafy top accidentally sprouted (生长) through it.     A growing body of research proves that the keys to aging successfully are a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (combine) of exercising regularly, keeping busy with life, and maintaining a healthy diet with nutritious foods.
