Yang Jiang，the famous woman writer and translator is well-known to us all．

    She was born in Beijing in 1911．originally named Yang Jikang．As a baby she liked laughing．Her parents let every daughter develop their character freely．which is rare at that time and even at present．Jikang，therefore，had a happy childhood in the 1920s．

    She graduated from university and went to Tsinghua University as a postgraduate(研究生)in the 1930s．There she met Qian Zhongshu：they fell in love and married．

    In the l940s，she started to use the name Yang Jiang as her pen name．Since then she was commonly known as Madam Yang Jiang．

    In the l950s，she worked for Peking University，and started to learn Spanish．She was the first to translate Don Quixote《堂吉诃德》)into Chinese．

    She began to write short novels in the 1980s．The novel The Old Wang(《老王》)written in 1984 was selected as the passage in our middle school text book．

    Besides，her famous works After Baptism(《洗澡之后》)and We Three(《我们仨》)also became a household name in China．

    Sorry to hear that Madam Yang died at Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing，on May25，2016．

    Such was Madam Yang，the best wife and the most talented woman!Her legend is still continuing!

    Some boys like wearing the same kinds of clothes as girls, and some of them have long hair. So sometimes it's difficult to tell whether（是否）they are boys or girls. Today is Sunday. I have a walk with my grandmother in the park. My grandmother is 80 years old and she can't see well. After some time, my grandmother is tired（疲倦的）, so she sits down on a chair. There is another person sitting on the chair, too.

    "Hello," my grandmother says to the person with long hair next to her. "Can you see the person with long hair under the big tree? Is it a boy or a girl? "

    "Which（哪一个） one?" asks the person.

    "The one eating under the big tree," says my grandmother.

    "The boy?" says the person. "He's my brother Mark."

    "Oh," says my grandmother, "I don't know you are his sister."

    "No, I'm not his sister. I'm his brother."

    Lots of people make it as their aim to get to the top of Mount Everest. Mark is one of them. The difference between Mark and other climbers is that he lost both his legs when climbing New Zealand's highest mountain, Mount Cook. He was caught in a big ice hole and he had to have his legs cut below the knees after he was saved. But that couldn't make him lose heart, who has become the first person with man-made legs to reach the top of Mount Everest.

    From the top of the world's highest mountain, Mark called his wife to say he made it. His wife, Anne got the phone when she was sleeping. She couldn't hear him clearly on the phone. She was unable to say when he reached the top but thought it was around mid-day. She also said his "legs" didn't work well sometimes, so her husband was carrying a spare leg and repair tools.

    Mark used to be a mountain guide before his accident. He said it was not important that no one like him had ever reached the 8,850-meter mountain.

    "I'm not doing this to be the first. I have been climbing most of my life and I just feel Mount Everest is really a great aim. I want to send a message that I can do anything better. "

    An old man is sitting on the sofa in his house along with his son. Just then, a crow (乌鸦) stops on their window.

    "What is that?" asks the father.

    "It is a crow." answers the son.

    "What is that?" asks the father again after a few minutes.

    "Father, I just told you. It's a crow." the son answers again.

    "What is that?" asks the old father a third time.

    "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again?  I have told you so many times 'IT IS A CROW'!" shouts (大喊) the son.

    After a little while,  the father goes to his room and comes back with his old diary (日记). He asks his son to read one page. The son reads the following words in the diary:

    "Today my 3-year-old son is sitting with me on the sofa. When a crow is sitting in the window, he asks me 23 times what it is, and, 23 times, I answer, 'it is a crow' I hug (拥抱) him warmly every time he asks me the same question, again and again."

    When your parents get old,  do not look them as a burden (负担), but be kind to them. Remember they are the people who always love you. Love your parents, please.

    Michelle Wie, from America, is like a lot of other young girls in many ways. She is a good student, and she likes reading, drawing, and computers. However, in some other ways, she is very different. She doesn't spend much time going out with friends or shopping or going to parties. She's very busy practising golf.

    Michelle Wie is the best woman golfer for her age in the world. She was born in 1989. In 1999, at the age of 10，she began to win games. At 13, she could hit the ball farther than most of the women in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). At 14, she showed she could hit the ball farther than most men.

    Wie began playing golf at the age of four. When she grew older, she played about four hours a day on weekdays and seven hours a day at weekends. Another thing that helped her was that she was tall. Now Wie is about six feet tall. She has the flexibility of a dancer and also is very strong. And it's clear that she loves the game.
