Mattie celebrated her 6^th birthday earlier this month. For her birthday, she wanted to do something for other children.

    “We {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (talk) about Mattie's birthday cake when she said that she wanted a big one so no one was hungry at her party,” her mother said. “She didn't want anyone to be hungry and she got big tears in her eyes and asked if we could donate food {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people.”

    For her party, Mattie's friends arrived {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (quick) with gifts, but the packages weren't filled with toys, instead {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (can) and boxes of food. Once her party was over, Mattie, with some help, took {#blank#}5{#/blank#} donations of food to the Maryville Ministry Center.

    Mattie was not the only local child {#blank#}6{#/blank#} recently did so. Her best friend Eliana celebrated her 5^th birthday in February and decided that she wanted to give back as well.

    Mattie and Eliana are still children, though, and enjoy {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (play) with their dolls and stuffed animals just like every other kid does.

    “For being so young, it's a blessing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (have) kids that are living for something more than themselves,” Wall said. “I'm pretty {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (hope) that it will continue over time and it's amazing to see {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (we) kids doing things for others.”

There has been a recent trend in the food service industry toward lower fat content and less salt．This trend，which was started by the medical community（医学界）{#blank#}1{#/blank#}a method of fighting heart disease，has had some unintended side{#blank#}2{#/blank#}（effect） such as overweight and heart disease—the very thing the medical community was trying to fight．

    Having enough fat and salt in your meals will reduce the urge to snack（吃点心） between meals and will improve the taste of your food．However，be {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（ care） not to go to extremes．Like anything，it is possible to have too much of both，{#blank#}10{#/blank#} is not good for the health．

    Sheryl dropped the heart-painted rock into my bag, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (say), “There's no charge for this. I want to give it you! ”

    Her loving energy had attracted me {#blank#}2{#/blank#} her display at the artisan's PopLocal party like a bee to a flower. We had {#blank#}3{#/blank#} heart-to-heart chat about {#blank#}4{#/blank#} she began painting rocks because of the white feather symbolism shared as {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(inspire) between her and an uncle and how it{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (eventual) developed into her “bee kind” mission.

    From her pocket she pulled a sweet little rock. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (paint) like a bee, with the words “bee kind” on the back. “I paint and give these! ” she shared. “They are in so many {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (country) now, even one at the Great Wall of China! ”

    I asked if I could take some photos. I saw Sheryl's smile, and it just lit {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (she) whole fact. It just occurred to me that earlier in the day I gave away a heart-shaped “worry stone” and now I {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (give) a rock with a heart painted lovingly on it.

There are many kinds of festivals throughout the world. For example, Japanese observe Obon, people go to clean graves and light incense {#blank#}4{#/blank#} memory of their ancestors. In India. October 2 is a national festival{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (honour) Mohandas Gandhi. who helped India become an {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (depend) country.  And in China the Spring Festival, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} is celebrated in January or February, is{#blank#}8{#/blank#}most energetic and important festival because it is a festival that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (look) forward to the coming of spring. Why are all these festivals everywhere？Because during the festivals, people can get together to eat, drink and have fun with each other, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (forget) all the daily struggles and demands for a while.
