This is a true story which happened in the States. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (happy) hammering dents(凹痕) into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp(果浆汁) as {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (punish). When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.

  Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to cut the fingers from both the boy's hands. When the boy {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (wake) up from the operation and saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, “Daddy, I'm sorry about your truck,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} when are my fingers going to grow back?”

The father went home and committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(foot) or you wish to take revenge(报复). Think first {#blank#}7{#/blank#} you lose your patience with someone you love. Trucks can be repaired, but {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(break) bones and hurt feelings often can't. Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(great) than revenge.

People make mistakes. We {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (allow) to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will impress us forever.

    The computer began as a calculating machine in France in 1642. It could make difficult sums much {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (simple). In 1936 Alan Turing wrote a book about how the computer could be made to work as a "universal machine"   {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (solve) any difficult mathematical problem.

    At{#blank#}3{#/blank#} beginning, the computer was {#blank#}4{#/blank#}large as a room. This really worried the designers. As time   {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (go) by, it became smaller and smaller. With artificial {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (intelligent), it is getting cleverer and cleverer, quicker and quicker.

    In the early 1960s, computers could{#blank#}7{#/blank#}connect) by a network,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} enabled their users to share information {#blank#}9{#/blank#} others. Since the 1970s, computers have had many new{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(application) and become very important in communication, finance, trade and even been put into space rockets and sent to explore the Moon and Mars.

    With the College Entrance Examination {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(draw) near, I am too nervous {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(fall)asleep. My mother told me to take{#blank#}3{#/blank#}easy and not to stay{#blank#}4{#/blank#}late at night. She is very sensitive {#blank#}5{#/blank#}other people's feelings. My mother has a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (prefer) for cooking meals. She also told me it was bad to be particular{#blank#}7{#/blank#}food. What she said was{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(reason). I am always easily{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (persuade). I'll do some relaxing exercise{#blank#}10{#/blank#}may help me take the load off my mind. I'm sure I'll calm down to meet the challenge with confidence.

    Wang Peng felt very frustrated when he saw none of his patrons (常客) would eat in his restaurant as {#blank#}1{#/blank#}( usually). In his opinion, nothing could be {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(good)than his fried , mutton kebabs , fatty pork or his sugary cola . Who won his customers? In order to win his customers {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, he went to the library to do some research, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}showed Yong Hui's menu didn't give the customers energy-giving food .Having found out the{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(weak ) of Yong Hui's menu , Wang Peng wrote his own sign ,{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(say) energy-giving food served. In fact, there was weakness in Wang Peng's menus, too .Food at his restaurant {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(contain) too much fat . So the only solution is to combine the two menus together to be a balanced menu.
