A better town for teenagers

    I believe there are many things that we can do to make life in our town a lot better for teenagers.

    First of all, I think more bike lanes should{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(build). A lot of teenagers in my town ride bikes everywhere, but it's very{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(danger) because there is a lot of traffic. If there are more bike lanes in the future, it will be much {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(safe) for us.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(two), I believe that we need more places for teenagers to go to.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}my opinion, teenagers won't cause problems in the street if there are more places for us to go to. So we need more{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(club) and other places where we can meet.

    Thirdly, teenagers here need more sports facilities. There{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) places to play ball games so far like tennis and basketball, but what about other sports,{#blank#}8{#/blank#}skating and rollerblading?

    Finally, I'm sure we'll make the town better{#blank#}9{#/blank#}we don't drop litter. If we all do something{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(help) now, our town will be much better for everyone in the future.

What is your favorite cartoon? It may be difficult for you to decide. But for Lang Lang, Tom and Jery is the best one. When he was two years old, he saw Tom playing the piano. This was bis first time to enjoy western music and this experience encouraged him to learn to play the piano. His talent in the keyboard（琴键）bas taken him from his hometown to the world.

Lang Lang became a good piano student at the age of three. Ever since the boy has been doing better and better. In 1977, the 15-year-old boy studied at a famous American music college. The road to success has never been easy. Lang Lang's father stopped bis job and went to America to look after him, while bis mother stayed in his bometown to make money. His parents really provided so much support for him. Lang Lang considered himself lucky and believed he should give something back. 

Lang Lang's performances are energetic（充满活力的）. He is well-known for making facial expressions（面部表情）and moving around while playing the piano. Finally, Lang Lang made great achievements in music. When he was 26 years old, he was qualified（有资格的）to perform on the world stage. After he became more famous and richer, Lang Lang helped the children in poor areas a lot

In many places on Earth the weather changes during the year. These changes are called seasons. 

Spring Spring starts when the day and night are of the same length. The weather gets warmer and sunnier. Trees and plants start to grow. Many animals have their babies in spring. 

Summer Summer begins on the longest day of the year. In the north this is on 21 June. Summer is usually the warmest and sunniest time of the year. Fruit grows on trees and plants. Young animals grow bigger and stronger. 

Autumn Autumn starts when the day and night are of the same length again. During autumn, the leaves change colour and fall from the trees. Some animals collect food before winter comes. 

Winter Winter begins on the shortest day of the year. In the north this is on 21 December. The weather is co lder and in some places there is lots of snow. Plants and trees stop growing. Some animals, like snakes and bears, find places to hide and sleep. This is called hibernation.

Dear Teens,

①Do you wonder why some kids can stay calm while others get nervous so easily? Why do some kids do everything very quickly while others are very sluggish? Why are some kids always happy while some feel upset all times? 

②One of the answers to these questions is personality. People were born with different personalities. A baby gets its blood type, genes (pass on from its parents) and other physical things when it is still inside its mother. These factors make part of your personality. Besides, family life，school learning and life experiences can also decide what kind of person you are. You may not like your personality. Don't worry. You can always try to change it and make yourself better.

③If you are a selfish person who always thinks of yourself, you can start this way. Try to give others a hand and ask for nothing in return. The happiness you get from giving instead of receiving will help you change your personality.

④If you are very shy and don't know how to make friends, just tell yourself to smile at others and start talking to others with warm greetings. You are sure to have more friends than you used to do.

⑤If you are a sluggish person who always does things slowly, you'd better make a plan every day. When you finish something, draw a happy face. If not, draw a crying one. No one would like to see a crying face and you will have the desire to change it into a smiling one.

⑥All in all, don't get too worried about your shortcomings. No one is perfect. That's why many people are trying to change. Don't give yourself a hard time about it all. It's not easy to change the habits overnight. Remember "Rome is not built in a day". Keep working at it. One day you'll see that you can turn over a new leaf and be a new person.

In our school, all students have their favourite subjects. But students in different grades like different subjects. 

In Grade Seven, students' favourite subject is always Chinese, because it's their mother tongue and it's easy for them. And most of them don't like English. They think English is very difficult, because it's different from Chinese. And they like PE and music, too. Students at this age like playing sports. They can play soccer, basketball in PE classes. Why is music welcome? Most of them think music is relaxing. 

In Grade Eight, some students like maths very much. But they aren't very good at maths, because maths in Grade Eight is a little difficult. They need to do exercises for a long time. Students in Grade Eight also like science and geography. They can learn a lot from science. And they also say they seem (似乎) to go around China in geography classes. 

In Grade Nine, English is some students' favourite subject. It's useful. Students often talk with friends in English after school. They even watch English programs on TV to learn more.
