    On my way home from school last Friday, I saw a little dog looking hopelessly on the sidewalk. I was held it firmly up in my arms, took it home and feed some milk to it. Finally, we agreed that it would be deciding by my dad, whom didn't return home from work. Just then the girl and her dad drove near, searching for their lost pets. When they thanked us caring the dog, I felt very happy.

    I woke up lately yesterday because my alarm clock didn't ring. With no time for the breakfast, I rushed out of my house. I had intended to catch the 7:30 subway, and I didn't make it.     Today Mr. Zhang, our English teacher, told us what to improve our English writing skills. The ability to write in English is becoming increasing important in English communication as well as in examinations. Thus, it was worth focusing our attention on.

    In order to write the good essay we should have an excellent command of over 2,000 frequently-used English word. It's necessary and useful for them to read or even recite beautiful English articles. Beside, as the saying goes, that "Practice makes perfect", so we should take every possible chance to write in English.

    According my personal experience, keep a diary every day is a good means to achieve the aim.

    Three years ago I was admitted to an ordinary school. Disappointing as I felt at the poorly-equipped classroom, I found the teachers patient and considerately. What's more, I was very fond in the friendly atmosphere in class. I was determined to make best of it. I worked hard and get along well with my teachers and classmates. Whenever I had difficulties, they were always ready to helping me out. Soon, I became one of the top student in my class, which made me to become confident and motivated.

    What I experienced in high school tell me that it is not what you are given but how you make use of it which determines who you are.

    As the saying goes, chances favored the prepared mind. I learned this from one of my experience.

    I was not chosen as member of the volleyball team of our school. Because of this, I decided to give up play volleyball. Luckily, my best friend stopped me but pointed out that it was my laziness and poor preparation which led to my failure. After that, I practiced playing volleyball on every day. When another tryout arrived, I was full prepared and tried my best. As a result, I was selected and became an important player on our school team.

    From this, I am firmly convincing that, no matter when chances arrive, we were able to seize them as long as we get well prepared.

    It is almost five years since I begin to learn English. I'm glad to say I'm getting along good with it. But first I came across a lot of difficulties. I couldn't pronounce English words well, so could I remember the words I had learned. I couldn't even understand that the teacher had said in class. When I almost lost heart, the teacher told me, "Keeping on, and you'll do well." I was greatly encouraged. I started working hard at English. Under the help of him and my classmates, I've made a great progress. I am very pleasing and I'll work even hard in future.
