Simple Ways to Build Trust

The most valuable thing you can have is trust. When there is no trust, it becomes hard to get anything done.  Then think of another one with very little trust.

    Which one do you prefer?

We can all be better off with more trust in our lives. And I'm going to show you a few things you can do to build trust.

Be honest. Honesty is the basis of any relationship. Be true to your word and keep your promises. Share honest information, even if it's to your disadvantage.

Ask open-ended questions.   Open-ended questions give your friends chances to tell you about themselves. Ask more questions based on the answers that you get.

Don't be perfect. There's always something fishy(可疑的) about someone who seem to have everything going for them.  This sends a message that you're not hiding anything and that you want to build trust.

Say what you mean.  When you build up a reputation of saying what you mean, people don't have to second-guess what you are trying to say. This helps you win trust.

Don't blame others.  Be brave to take responsibility and then decide what you are going to do next. Don't waste the present thinking about the past which can't be changed. A person that doesn't blame gets the trust of others quickly.

A. If you think it's a bad idea, say so.

B. When things go wrong, don't point the finger at them.

C. Value long-term relationships more than short-term success.

D. Don't waste your energy hiding your mistakes or weaknesses.

E. Think of one of your relationships where there is a lot of trust.

F. Learn more about your friends and be interested in their answers.

G. Trust may be the most important part in successful relationships.

Any car accident is frightening, but an accident in which your vehicle is thrown into the water, with you trapped inside, is absolutely terrifying. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} However, most deaths result from panic, without a plan or understanding what is happening to the car in the water. By adopting a brace (支撑) position, acting decisively and getting out fast, you can save yourself from a sinking vehicle.

Brace yourself for impact (撞击力). As soon as you're aware that you're going off the road and into a body of water, adopt a brace position. The impact could set off the airbag system in your vehicle, so you should place both hands on the steering wheel in the "ten and two" position.

Undo your seatbelt. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Untie the children, starting with the oldest first. Forget the cell phone call. Your car isn't going to wait for you to make the call.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Leave the door alone at this stage and concentrate on the window. A car's electrical system should work for up to three minutes in water, so try the method of opening it electronically first. Many people don't think about the window as an escape option either because of panic or misinformation about doors and sinking.

    Break the window. If you aren't able to open the window, or it only opens halfway, you'll need to break it with an object or your foot. It may feel counter-intuitive (有悖常理的) to let water into the car. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Escape when the car has equalized. If it has reached the dramatic stage where the car cabin has been filled with water and it has become balanced, you must move quickly and effectively to ensure your survival. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} While there is still air in the car, take slow, deep breaths and focus on what you're doing.

A. Open the window as soon as you hit the water.

B. Surviving a sinking car is not as difficult as you think.

C. It takes 60 to 120 seconds for a car to fill up with water usually.

D. Such accidents are particularly dangerous to the risk of drowning.

E. In conclusion, if you know what to do in the water, you will be safe.

F. This is the first thing to attend to, yet it often gets forgotten in the panic.

G. But the sooner the window is open, the sooner you can escape directly through it.

How to improve vocabulary fast

Your vocabulary refers to the words in a language you are familiar with. We should learn some ways to expand it.

Read every day.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Choose reading material that is slightly above your level and keep a dictionary with you to look up words you do not know.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} If you do not meet with an unfamiliar word in your daily reading, use your dictionary to search for one.

Learn the correct definition and pronunciation for each new word. Pronunciation is as important as definition because in order to add a word to your active vocabulary, you must be able to use it in speech.

    Elaborate (详尽阐述) on the meaning of the word. If you have just learned the word "stubborn", think about the neighbour who will not lend you his car.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

Use your new word in speech and in writing. E-mail your sister about how your cat is stubborn about sleeping on your pillow. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} But the more you use it, the more fluent you will become in its use. Soon it will be a regular part of your active vocabulary.

Tell everyone you are trying to increase your vocabulary. Encourage them to ask you what your latest word is.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} The more you explain the meaning of a word to someone, the more likely you are to remember it.

A. Or let them ask for the definition of a new word you have used.

I don't believe Artificial Intelligence (AI) could replace my teaching career. I have always been interested in human connection, and the ways in which I can use these connections to inspire change and make a difference. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, there are other ways where AI could make a more efficient and effective difference than I could on my own.

My teaching experiences over the past several years have been creative and inspiring. I believe that the job of educators extends beyond simply teaching students a set curriculum. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, they must constantly reflect on ways to better their teaching, and they must inspire their students to be the best versions of themselves. And now with the help AI, they could achieve these goals much easier.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. First, AI can be used to promote fundamental skills, such as mathematical education and vocabulary lessons. Additionally, I see AI being used for such necessary tasks as answering questions and grading assignments. Thus I could focus my attention to establishing human connection, individualizing lesson plans and inspiring my students.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. I believe AI could provide a strong basis for educational equality around the world. According to Todd Leopold, close to 800 million people worldwide are functionally illiterate (不识字的). Due to its ability to efficiently pass knowledge across large groups of people fewer teachers may be needed in some schools. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

A. Since students will always need a human teacher

B. The benefit AI brings is far beyond my own classroom

C. I think AI is a powerful assistant to my future classroom

D. The need for students to learn how to use AI will also grow

E. Although human connection may never be able to be fully replaced by AI

G. They must observe and get to know their students in order to individualize educational plans
