On a cold evening with snow floating in the air, I got {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (stick) on the road because of a flat tire(轮胎). I attempted {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (seek) help from the passing cars, but no one stopped. As I was about to give up hope, a man {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (drive) an old dirty car came to my aid. To be honest, I was scared when he first approached me. Eying him up and down, I thought to myself, “There is a very good chance {#blank#}4{#/blank#} he may rob me,” He seemed to have sensed my discomfort so he tried to ease my {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (anxious) by introducing himself. His act of kindness made me feel ashamed to have questioned his intentions. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} was really considerate of him to stop to help a perfect stranger like me, especially in such terrible weather. Thus, after the spare tire was fitted, I asked {#blank#}7{#/blank#} much I owed him. I wanted to pay him back. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (surprising), he did not take my offer but rather told me to pass the act of kindness forward and help more people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} need. As he said those words, I noticed him wearing a smile of contentment. Helping  others seemed a very {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（nature）thing to him. I witnessed the true beauty of human nature in him.

    China is the homeland of tea. Human cultivation of tea plants dates back to two thousand years ago. Tea from China, along {#blank#}2{#/blank#} her silk and porcelain, began to be known to the world more than a thousand years ago and since then it {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (be) an important Chinese export.

    At present more than forty countries in the world grow tea with Asian countries，{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (produce) 90% of the world's total output. All tea trees in other countries have their origin directly or indirectly in China. The habit of tea drinking spread to Japan in the 6th century, but it was not introduced to Europe and America till the 17th and 18th centuries. Now the number of tea {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  （drink） in the world is still on the increase.

    When police found Barely, 19 years old, living in a tent, instead of a dormitory in Gordon State University, they were prepared to drive him away.

    Then they heard his story. Barely {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(plan) to walk to college {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he couldn't afford a bus ticket, but it would be too {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(tire). And then there was Casey, who started a GoFundMe page for Barely after spending time with him. "This kid, though weak in {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(appear), rode a bike for 6 hours in the hot weather. I thought that he is determined." She wrote on her Facebook page. The fund reached $184,000, all of {#blank#}10{#/blank#} went into an education trust for Barely.

    A few years ago, famous writer and editor Tom became very ill. His body ached and he felt constantly tired. It was difficult for him to even move around. His doctor told him that he would lose the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(able) to move and eventually die from the disease. He {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(tell) he had only a one in 500 chance of survival.

    Despite the diagnosis(诊断), Tom was determined to overcome {#blank#}3{#/blank#} disease and survive. He was always getting help from medicine books and some doctors {#blank#}4{#/blank#} gave the ideas of curing his disease. The ideas made Tom {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(think) about the possible benefit of several positive {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(emotion).

    He decided {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(concentrate) on positive emotions as a way to treat some of the symptoms of his disease. “Laugh therapy” became part of his treatment. He arranged time each day {#blank#}8{#/blank#} watching comedy films, reading humorous books, and {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(do) other activities that would draw out positive emotions. Within eight days of starting his ''laugh therapy” program, his pain began to decrease and he was able to sleep more {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(easy). He was able to return to work in a few months' time and actually reached complete recovery after a few years.

    Swedish businessman Nile Bergqvist is delighted with his new hotel, the world's first igloo (冰屋) hotel.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (build) in a small town, it has been attracting lots of visitors, but soon the fun will be over. In two weeks' time Bergqvist's ice creation {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) nothing more than a pool of water. "We don't see it as a big problem," he says. "We just look forward to replacing {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    Bergqvist built his first igloo in 1991 for an art exhibition. It was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} successful that he designed the present one, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} measures roughly 200 square meters.     After their stay, all visitors receive a survival certificate recording their success.     The {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (popular) of the igloo is beyond doubt. It is now attracting tourists {#blank#}10{#/blank#} all over the world. At least 800 people have stayed at the igloo this season even though there are only ten rooms.
