    As the saying goes, many little drop of water make an ocean. A small action may lead to major changes took place in society. My friends and I had participated in a voluntary activity at a nursing home last week. We first did some cleaning or washing. After that we spent half an hour chatted with the old people living there. Though it was a tired day, we were happy with that we did. I felt a sense of responsibility by visiting the old. If all of us lend a helping hand to the people in need, they can live in harmony with each other. A society is just as a family. If we are willing to help others, our small actions can make big difference.

    Life is a mystery and we will never know that is waiting for us. But one thing is for sure: problems are unavoidable. For us, it's the process of solving problems that help us grow.

    Making a speech in public used to make me frightening. With a strong accent and terrible pronunciation, I failed in speech competition many times, but I didn't lose my heart. I was admitted by the school speech club. I considered it a good chance for me to improve myself. With a help of others, I recorded my speech, listening to it and corrected my pronunciation. Now I am confident enough to give my best speech to you all.

    Last week I went to countryside to visit my parents. I enjoyed the warmly family atmosphere. That evening, a group of local actor came to give a performance in the village hall. My sister and I are riding our bikes outside our town. Suddenly, we saw something small moving in the wood ahead of us. We all stopped to investigate. Soon we discovered it to be a starved dog with an injured leg. We realized we had to rescue it. We returned back to town with the dog to get the help it needed. A farmer happened to be nearby until we got into town. The dog ran straight to him as if he were his owner. At this moment he knew he had to keep it. The dog now lives the easy life on the farm with lots of animals to play.
