    Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which our old buildings, as well as many other similar ones, should be going to be pulled away to make room for a main street. So they had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautiful park. His apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area.     Last weekend, after pay a visit to the city of New York, I visited the Smithsonian Institutions National Air and Space Museum, where lies in Washington, D.C.

    The museum, which covers a area of 18,000 square meters, is made of 24 exhibition halls. All kinds of planes, rockets, missiles and spaceship of great importance and variously old instruments that famous pilots and astronauts used are on display. In addition, I see copies of some satellites and aircraft. More interestingly, I tried operating on some aircraft by myself. During the visit, I took lots of pictures as well.

    This brief visit helped myself learn much about the history of human's space exploration. It made me more interesting in science and technology.

    Last weekend, I went to visit my English teacher, who was already in his fifty. He gives me a lot of help when I was a junior middle school student. Delighting to see me, he asked my senior middle school life. Then he advised me to make fully preparations for the coming entrance examination. It was so a pleasure to see him again that I didn't notice it was pretty later. I had to say goodbye to each other.

    He is not only a good teacher but my close friend. Wherever I will go, I will always treasure a time that I spent with my teacher.

    I am writing to thank you for your congratulations at my success in the translation competition. In your letter, you told me that you want to know how to do well in translation. Here are some piece of advice.

    First, you need to grasp the basic grammar knowledge, that enables you to understand the sentences correctly and translate the originally language to the target language properly. Second, you'd better to master a wide range of knowledge belonged to different fields. It's true that the more you know, the easier is for you to make clear what the passage talks about.
