Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. If you can stay positive no matter what life throws at you, you've got the freedom to change your life into anything you want it to be. But how?

    Enjoy the Moment

While the present moment may be uncomfortable, it is the only one that is guaranteed.  Look beyond the present problem and find the moments that are worth enjoying and then enjoy each one.

    Five Happy Things Everyday

Make it a rule to recognize and then celebrate five happy things every day. Whatever their size or significance is, be sure to seek these happy things out and then hold them close so you can see their positive power.

    Embrace(接受)Your Mistakes

Embrace your mistake as an opportunity to learn something new about yourself and others. By becoming aware of your mistakes, you are able to move past them and prevent regret from keeping you stuck in the past.

    Hold Yourself Accountable

Keep focused. It's up to you to walk your path. When you feel your positive attitude slipping away, hold yourself accountable for getting it back on track.  It's going to take a positive attitude to make your dreams come true.

    Let it Go

Holding on to old, negative thoughts will prevent positive thoughts from getting through.  You weren't born to be consumed by constant negative thinking. You were born to make a positive difference in this world. It's time to let go and begin living the life you are meant to live. It's time to stay positive-no matter what.

A. Keep you safe from anxiety.

B. So let your negative beliefs go.

C. Would you rather be right or happy?

D. Thus, make the most of the present moment.

E. No one wants your goals and dreams more than you do.

F. This habit helps you to appreciate whatever you have.

G. Accept the fact that you are human and that nobody is perfect.

The book ABigFatCrisis: TheHiddenForcesBehindObesityEpidemicandHowWeCanEndIt by Deborah Cohen, a senior natural scientist, is very popular now. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} But according to this book, the following are some misunderstandings of obesity or being overweight.

1).If you're obese, blame your genes.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Yet, between 1980 and 2000, the number of Americans who are obese has doubled—too quickly for genetic factors to be responsible. At restaurants, a dollar puts more calories on our plates than ever before, because restaurant meals usually have more calories than what we prepare at home, so people who eat out more frequently have higher rates of obesity than those who eat out less.

2).If you're obese, you lack selfcontrol.

Research shows that if we are faced with too much information, we have a tendency to make poor choices on diet. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Even, the most vigilant(警觉的)people may not be good controllers of themselves.

3).{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Although the US Department of Agriculture estimates that fewer than 5 per cent of Americans live in the “food deserts”, about 65 per cent of the nation's population is obese. For most of us, obesity is not related to access to more fresh fruits and vegetables, but to the choices we make in supermarkets.

4).The problem is not that we eat too much, but that we don't exercise.

Michelle Obama's “Let's Move” campaign is based on the idea that if kids exercise more, childhood obesity rates will decrease. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} In fact, although a drop in workrelated physical activity may explain up to 100 fewer calories burned, leisure physical activity appears to have increased.

A.Lack of access to fresh fruits and vegetables is a cause of obesity.

B.Obesity rates have increased.

C.Fresh fruits and vegetables we choose in a supermarket are related to obesity.

D.But there was no obvious decrease in physical activity levels as obesity rates climbed in the 1980s and 1990s.

E.People hold different views on obesity.

F.People benefit a lot from physical activities.

G.Our world has become so rich in food that we can be led to consume too much in ways we can't understand.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a performer. But when it came time to go to college and decide what I wanted to be for the rest of my life, I didn't want to choose drama as my major. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} So instead of studying drama, I went to law school like my two sisters did before me. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} They worked about 80 hours a week, but they made good money and could afford expensive cars and apartments in the city.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} I had great benefits, including four weeks of vacation a year, but I never got to use any of my vacation time because there was always too much work to do. I worked from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. six days a week, and when I finished, all I could do was get into my bed until I woke up to do it all over again the next day.

    After five years of this lifestyle, I thought I was going to go crazy. I was unhappy and exhausted, and I never saw my friends and my family. I thought that acting in a small community play might make me feel better, but rehearsals (排练) and performances all took place during my work hours. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

I got a small part in a local play, and then a bigger part, and then a lead role. Now I make my living from acting, and every now and then, I do some legal consulting (咨询) for a little extra money. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I had to give up my big apartment and expensive car, but I'm so much happier now.

A. They aren't good examples to me.

B. They seemed happy enough, I thought.

C. I don't get paid a lot for my acting jobs.

D. So I made a serious decision and quit my job.

E. I am certainly a better performer than lawyer.

F. Making a living as a performer seemed impractical to me.

G. After law school, I got a good job and worked as a lawyer for a big company.

Every week for the past thirty years, I have hosted a Sunday dinner in my home. People, including total strangers, call or e-mail to book a spot. I hold the salon in my studio. The first fifty people who call may come-twice that many when the weather is nice and we can overflow into the garden.

{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Last week it was a philosophy student from Lisbon, and next week a dear friend from London will cook.

People from all corners of the world come to break bread together,to meet to talk, and often to become friends. All ages, nationalities, races, and professions gather here, and since there is no organized seating, the opportunity for connecting couldn't be better. I love the randomness (随意).

I have a good memory so each week I make a point to remember everyone's name on the guest list and where they're from so I can introduce them to one another. If I had my way, I would introduce everyone in the whole world to one another.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Many travelers go to see things like the Tower of London, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and so on. I travel to see friends, even-or especially-those I've never met.

In the late 1980s, I edited a series of guidebooks to different countries.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}Instead, each book contained about a thousand biographies of people who would be willing to welcome travelers in their cities. Hundreds of friendships evolved from these encounters, including including marriages and babies.

The same can be said for my salon. At a recent dinner a six-year-old girl from Bosnia spent the entire evening glued to an eight-year-old boy from Estonia. Their parents were surprised, and pleased, by this immediate friendship.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}Most of them speak English, at least as a second language. Recently a dinner featured a typical mix: a beautiful painter from Norway, a truck driver from Arizona, a newspaper editor from Sydney and students from all over.

It is unnecessary to understand others; one must, at the very least, simply tolerate others.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}No one can ever really understand anyone else, but you can love them or at least accept them.

I am a world citizen. All human history is mine. My roots cover the earth. We should know each other. Okay, now come and dine.

A. I believe in introducing people to people.

B. People are the most important thing in my life.

C. There were no sights to see, no shops or museums to visit.

D. Tolerance can lead to respect and, finally, to love.

E. After all, our lives are all connected.

F. Every Sunday a different friend prepares a feast.

G. There is always a collection of people throughout the world.

Tips for Using Google Maps When You Travel

Traveling somewhere new can bring exciting adventures. But it can also bring unwelcome surprises. That may be in the tools you use before and during your trip. With the right technology, you can make the most of your time on the road. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} While people most commonly use Google Maps for directions from one place to another, it offers many other kinds of travel tools. Today, we bring you several tips for using Google Maps.

    ⒈Plan a road trip route

When you are traveling on a road trip, you do not have to plan each part of the trip separately with Google Maps. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} To plan a road trip, open Google Maps. Search for your first destination, and then click on the arrow to get directions. Then, click on the plus + sign to add more destinations to your trip.

⒉Save your maps for offline use

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Or you may not want to pay international charges for using your phone in other countries. The good news is that you can still use Google Maps even without the Internet. You can download a map from Google Maps to your phone. To do this, open the Google Maps app on your phone and search for the area you want to save. Click on the address at the bottom of the screen, then choose Download.

⒊Use Google Maps for a walk or bike ride

While Google Maps may first give users directions to a place by car, it also offers biking or walking directions.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} The results also tell you the elevation change of the route, so you know how much energy you will have to use by choosing to walk or ride a bicycle.

    ⒋Save money on gas

If you are planning a car trip in North America, Google Maps can show you the lowest gas prices in the United States and Canada. Search for “gas stations” on the Google Maps app and you will see a list of nearby stations with gas prices.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Therefore, Google Maps is really a great convenience to tourists.

A. Google Maps has many tech tools that help make traveling easier.

B. When traveling, you may not always have access to the Internet.

C. You can get those directions by clicking the walking or bicycle icon.

D. The “gas stations” on the Google Maps app are sometimes difficult to find.

E. They will also be marked on the map so that you can see the closest ones to you.

F. The apps and maps are of great help when people are going to a store or supermarket.
