The English Corner in Zhongshan Park are where people go to practise their speaking English. Every Sunday afternoon they gather around, talk to each other in English. Among they are students, teachers, doctors, and so on. I first went to an English Corner when I was in Junior Grade Two. I went there on every Sunday and chat with some people in English. In the past three years I had never been absent. I'm sure I've made some progresses in my listening and speaking. And I have made many friends there. The English Corner is really good place. I hope that more friends will join in us.

    Challenges of life are of great importance in our grow. They remind me of my days in senior high school which I joined in the military training after I entered senior high school. It was the first time that I have lived away from my home, so I found it difficult to fit. And the training officer was strict with me. I once thought I couldn't stick to the end. But anyway, I was succeeded. The trials made it much easy for me to adapt to life, but I think the difficulty I came across have now become a precious memory in my life.

    In short, learning to regard the challenges of life as the stepping stone to future success and make the best of them.

    Last Monday, we hold a monitor election during our class meeting. Two students in our class took part the event. They are Liu Dong and Wang Hong, all of whom are the top students in our grade. Before the election, they each gave a briefly presentation about their plan after become the monitor. At the last, the winner turned out to be Wang Hong, who gained 28 votes when Liu Dong gained 15. Obviously, we thought Wang Hong's plan a good one. In the end, we gave Wang Hong a big hand but congratulated her. I expect that our class will be better under his leadership.

    Last term, I went to America for a student exchange programme. Before go, I was quite proud in my English. But everyone in America spoke so fast that I couldn't make out that what they were saying. Being in completely different culture was frightened and I even wanted to go straight back home.

    However, thing soon got better and better. The host family was very king. Fortunately, the boy that I stay with was crazy about football, that made my stay enjoyable. Beside, being an exchange student offered me a chance improve my English.

I have been learning English in for several years. Sometimes you communicate with foreign teachers to improve speaking skills. English helps me talked with people from difference countries. With my English ability, I can watch English film. I always want to understand how the journalists are saying, because my great interest in watching baseball games. To total understand the baseball game, I always replay the videos and try to find out more details. Not only do I admire the amazed skills of my favourite players, but also I learn much knowledge. As for me, English has been an useful tool in my daily life.
