    An English club will be set up on Dec. 16 in our school. It aims to arouse our interests in English and make us know more about the world.

    The club provides a platform, which we English lovers can improve our English proficiency through various activities. Firstly, we were to discuss some hot topics and express our opinions free. Secondly, English speech competitions and English debates are going to held to promoting our speaking ability. Therefore, there will be some lectures about western culture.

    On Friday, our teacher told us that there would an English corner in front of our teaching building. I set about soon after the last class in the afternoon. To my joy, the English corner had just been on for a few minute. I joined them on their talk. At first, I was afraid that my English was so poor and limit that I couldn't make myself understand. I was also afraid that anyone might laugh at me. But a smiling face here or an encouraging nod there soon put me at ease. Though I speak to them only in simple English that day, I believe in future I will make a greater progress.

    As summer vacation are coming soon, my classmates are trying very hardly to get train tickets to go home. But I have made up my minds to spend the vacation far from home for first time in my life. My parents have agreed to visiting me, and I will have a different vacation. When they came here, I will show them around my university and the city just as well. I have decided to buy them some nice gifts. It will be a big surprising for them. My parents have done a lot for me, but I think it is high time that I did anything special to express my thanks.

    I was immediately attract by Spanish for the first time I started learning it. It was not only because of the beauty of a language, but also because of my Spanish teacher Jose Maria. Jose was a 30­-year-­old Spanish with thickly beard. At first, I was always with a heavy heart when studying Spanish. I found difficult to understand what Jose was talking about in class. However, I didn't give it up. Every day I spent many time in listening. As time goes by, I was finally able to keep pace with her. Regain confidence, I came to enjoy each Spanish classes.
