Our family went to the Yellow Stone National Park last summer vacation. Our son, Tom, wanted to see bears there. And what an experience(经历)it was!

When we got there, we put up our tent(帐篷) and went to explore(探险). As we returned, we heard our daughter Susie cry out. And then we saw a bear go into our camp.

    Tom wanted his father to chase(追赶)him away. His father said, “No. It's dangerous to chase a bear. And don't let him chase you. ”Susie said, “What shall we do? Maybe we should climb a tree. ”Tom said, “No. We have to get him out of there. He might go to sleep in our tent. ”“Maybe we could make him leave if we put some honey outside for him to eat. ”Susie suggested. Then I said, “How are you going to get the honey? It's in the tent. ”We watched the bear go into the tent and heard him upset(翻倒; 弄翻)everything inside. “It's foolish for us to try to chase him away. ”said my husband, “Leave him alone and wait for him to come out. ”We waited, but the bear stayed inside. We had to sleep in the car that night.

    Once, some fish lived in a pond. One evening, some fishermen passed by the pond and saw the fish. "This pond is full of fish!" They told each other excitedly. "We must come back tomorrow morning and catch them!" they said.

    When the oldest fish heard this, he was troubled. He called the other fish together and said," Did you hear what the fishermen said? We must leave this pond at once. The fishermen will return tomorrow and kill us all!" The second oldest fish agreed. But the youngest fish laughed.  He said," We have lived in this pond all our lives, and no fisherman has ever come here. Why should these men return? I am not going anywhere-my luck will keep me safe."

    The oldest fish left the pond that evening with his family. The second oldest fish saw the fishermen coming the next morning and left the pond with all his family at once. The youngest fish didn't want to leave even then.

    The fishermen caught and killed all the fish left in the pond.

    The first fish that saw trouble ahead and acted before it arrived and the fish who acted as soon as trouble came-both survived. But the fish that only depended on luck and did nothing at all died. It is also the same in life.

I can't wait to tell you something about my trip in Providenciales!

It was already dark when I arrived here, so I stayed at the hotel and had {#blank#}1{#/blank#}rest. The next morning, I went to a beach to enjoy the beautiful sea. While I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(play) on the beach, I saw many volunteers taking boats to clean up the rubbish in the sea. I thought it was really meaningful, so I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (join) in the clean-up activity. When I {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(see) the clean sea in this area, I got a great feeling of satisfaction. Through this activity, I have been friends{#blank#}5{#/blank#} many people of my age. When the sun was setting, we returned to the beach and had a barbecue (烧烤) together. After that, while some people were putting away the dishes, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(pick) up the rubbish with my new friends. For the rest of the two days, I have {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) to many other beautiful places in Providenciales. I am so excited that I don't go to sleep{#blank#}8{#/blank#} I finish this letter.

The Everybody Experiment(实验), written by Lisa Moore Ramée, is about an 11- year- old girl named Kylie. Kylie has just {#blank#}1{#/blank#} sixth grade. She's very shy. She cries a lot, which makes her worry that she's not strong enough for middle school. She's also {#blank#}2{#/blank#} that her feelings might embarrass her friends.
