    First, you should write down all the things you want to buy. You should know how much money you need and take enough money with you. People can bring their own shopping bags now so you needn't buy one from the shop.

    Second, it's very important not to buy the things you needn't. There are many nice things in the shopping mall, but what you need is only some of them.

    Third, when you are shopping , you need to go into different shops and compare(对比)things of the same kind. It may take you lots of time to get the best one.

    Fourth, you can go shopping at the weekend or during holidays. On one hand, there are lots of discounts(折扣) on many things. On the other hand, people have enough time to decide which to buy.

    We spoke to three students from around the world about different national holidays. There are different customs (习俗) for each festival.

    “It'll soon be Chinese New Year. Before it, we'll clean the house and decorate it for good luck. Every shop is going to close for a few days and we'll go out a lot to celebrate in the streets. We might go and see the lion and dragon dances in the city center. I love this festival.”

    “Australia Day is on 26th January and it's an important holiday here. We always have a Monday off, so we celebrate for three days. My parents and I go to the countryside for a picnic and friends always come over. Many people go to beach parties or street parties and there's lots of music and dancing. What fun！”

    “The first Thanksgiving Day was hundreds of years ago when Europeans who came to America thanked God for his help. It's still a very important day for families to be together. This year we're going to visit my grandparents and we'll eat a delicious meal of turkey. Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday in November every year.”

    Body language is one of the most powerful means of communication.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} People around the world show all kinds of feelings, wishes and attitudes that they might never speak aloud. The most universal facial expression is the smile. People usually smile to show happiness and make people feel comfortable. But sometimes it does not always mean that we are truly happy, however.     It's December. It's snowing and the weather is really cold in the north of China. You can see many children playing with snow. Some of them are skating on the river because it's so cold that the water in the river freezes (结冰). It's a white world. How beautiful! But in Australia now, the weather is hot. Many people go swimming in the sea. They are having a good time. Jim and his friends are playing soccer near the sea. The sunny weather is really cool for them.
