Mike:  Let's go to the supermarket.

Mary:  Okay.

Mike:  I like this toy car. Do you like it?

Mary:  No, I don't. I like that teddy bear.

Mike:  These potatoes are good. I want to buy some.

Mary:  I want to buy tomatoes. They are good, too.

    An old woman wants to go to New York to see her son. She gets up early and gets to the station at nine o'clock in the morning. When does the train come and leave? She's very worried. She stops a boy and asks him.

    The boy looks at the woman and says. “tu…tu…tu…” The old woman sits in a chair and thinks and thinks. Then she says, “Oh, I see.”

    Today is New Year's Day. The students are very happy and busy. They are in the classroom now. They are having a big party. Chen Jie is singing and dancing. Amy is drinking water. Jim is eating a big apple. There are many fruits in front of him. Sarah is watching TV. Zhang Peng is talking to Jack. What is the teacher doing? She is writing "Happy New Year" on the blackboard. Everybody has a good time today.

    The winter vacation is coming. I am going to read some books about Canada, because I am going there to meet my pen pal, Ted.

    I hear there is a lot of snow in Canada, so I want to learn to ski. Ted is a skiing fan and he is going to teach me. I think it will be hard, but I want to have a try!

    I am excited! A wonderful winter vacation is waiting for me.

    Bill and Kitty live in different places. Bill lives on a farm and Kitty lives in a big city. Bill likes sport. He plays football in the afternoon. Kitty likes playing the piano. She plays the piano every evening after dinner. Kitty has pets. They are fish and a cat. They are very cute. Bill has a pet, too. It's a black and white dog. It can run very fast. Bill often plays with it. They are good friends.
