On many campuses, it has become a trend for a host of students to participate in various {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(activity). Involved in some positive ones, students find them quite {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(benefit) and rewarding.

     A case in point is the English club {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the activity of learning benefits me most. In contemporary world, English learning has gained great popularity and it is {#blank#}4{#/blank#}great importance for students to learn English well. However, I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(meet) a variety of difficulties in study so far. For instance, I have trouble {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(memorize) words. Sometimes, it is also difficult for me to understand the rules of grammar. Although I can read and write, I cannot express myself freely in English.

     Then, how to get a good command of his language for me? I{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(convince) that practice makes perfect and that joining the English club is worthwhile.     When I first heard about the Belt and Road Initiative (“一带一路”倡议). I thought about something simple and straightforward — like a fragrant cup of tea.

    For centuries, tea has brought {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(culture), communities, and people closer together. In the past centuries, tea {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(connect) economies through trade and investment. The Belt and Road Initiative holds a similar promise, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}is about connecting cultures, communities, economies, and people. It is about awaking ancient trade routes and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(build) new ones. It is also about adding new economic flavors by creating infrastructure (基础建设) projects based on 21st century expertise and standards. Delivering on this promise is not an easy task, {#blank#}5{#/blank#}doing so could bring great benefits.

    First, high-quality infrastructure could help stimulate potential global {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (grow), and raise the incomes of millions of people. As the Chinese proverb {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (go), “To become rich, one must first build roads.” A second benefit is greater inclusiveness. Think of {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(improve) roads in rural areas that can boost productivity and access to health services. By sharing the benefits of investment and knowledge more broadly, improvement will be {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(strong) and more inclusive. A third benefit is stronger economic cooperation. This would help boost global trade, investment, and financial cooperation, making {#blank#}10{#/blank#} easier to share the benefits of growth more widely. All this is good for consumers, good for productivity, and good for poverty reduction.

    Generally speaking, joy {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (express) by laughter. But as it turns out, it reveals a lot more than the fact {#blank#}2{#/blank#} you are happy. It enables listeners, even those who cannot observe you, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (realize) if you are having a good time with a close friend or laughing {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (polite) with a complete stranger.

    At least, this is the conclusion {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (reach) by a team of scientists led by Greg Bryant, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} assistant professor of Communication Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. The researchers began by {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(request) volunteers from across the world to send them audio clips(音频剪辑) of people laughing. The 48 tapes they received {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (range) from recent recordings of laughter between two college friends {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ones from conversations made ten years ago. The clips also had all possible {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (combine)--communications between friends, strangers, all-male groups, all-female groups, etc.

    Bryan says that the results of this cross-cultural examination show that people all over the world know laughter in similar ways.

    Jack was in his last year of junior school. He was only 4 feet and 11 inches, overweight. He had little hair and few {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (friend).     On September 11, 2001, Omar Eduardo Rivera, a blind computer technician (技术员), was working on the 71st floor of the World Trade Center with his guide dog {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (name) Dorado. When the hijacked (被劫持的) plane hit the tower, Rivera knew {#blank#}2{#/blank#} would take him a long time to escape from the building, but he wanted his lovely dog to have a chance {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (get) out so he set him free in the crowded stairwell. Then Dorado and the selfless co-worker {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (help) Rivera climb down 70 flights of stairs, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} took nearly an hour. No sooner had they escaped from the building {#blank#}10{#/blank#} it fell down completely, and Rivera says he owes his life to his faithful dog.
