Listening to songs is a great way to learn English. Here are a few reasons.

Even when friends are having a meal together, it's common to play with their phones. Smartphones weaken（削弱） our skills in many ways.

    According to a study, Chinese people spend about 170 minutes on their smart phones every day. For students, spending much time on smartphones isn't good for their study. The study shows children who spend more than four hours a day on their phones get much worse grades in school tests than those who play with their phones for 30 minutes.

    It's true that the smartphone makes our lives easier. But many people also think spending too much time on it is bad for their study or work. People are trying to change that.

    People make a new game called Forest. It lets users plant a seed that grows into a tree over the next 30 minutes. During it, users can't use their phones, or the tree will die.

    There is a restaurant in the USA. It gives people a discount(折扣) if they don't play with their smartphones during a meal. Owner Mark Gold said that he hoped it gave people a way to enjoy their meal and talk with friends and family.

    Careful and careless are as different as fire and water. But it is strange that quite a few scientists have both these qualities (品质 ). They are both careful and careless. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

    It's true that you can learn new words when you read or listen, but you should also study new words seriously. Here are a few things I do:

    Make flash cards(识字卡)：(A) I find this is really the best way to learn new words. Make some small cards and write the new English word on one side and the word in your language or in easy English on the other side to test yourself. To really make this work, you have to review often (You need a system! ). I think this is the best method for learning English vocabulary.

    Make sentences with the new words: This is great if you can ask someone to check them. It's also great to make some really crazy sentences-that way you won't forget them! I also collect example sentences of the words I'm trying to learn if I see the word in a book, I write down the sentence.

    Make up a mnemonic：A mnemonic is a way to remember something, like a little story. For example, (B) 我在厨房的门上贴上单词 kitchen. The problem with this is that it works for a while but then you get used to the words and forget to read them!

    Sometimes you feel unhappy. You may forget how great you are. What should you do? {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    ◆Do something helpful for someone. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    ◆Look in the mirror and say to yourself. "I am a special person and there is no one like me in the world. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}" It may not sound so good, but it really works!

    ◆Start to write diaries. Turn off the TV the let your imagination（想象力）fly! Write down your thoughts，dreams or anything you want! Writing always helps to express（表达）your feelings.

    ◆Smile! Be friendly to people you meet. Look for the god things in your friends and family. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} We all need our family time. Talk with your mom or dad or maybe even your cousin.
