He was just an ordinary postman. Day after day, he shuttled(穿梭) back and forth across the village. For him, life was without waves.
One day, he was delivering mail as usual. When he looked up in the sky, he suddenly lost his balance. It was a little stone that tripped him up(绊倒). He observed the stone that had embarrassed(难堪) him, finding it strange but beautiful. In his eyes, this stone was like a lost jewel(宝石) covered with dust. The postman then placed the stone in his bag carefully. Because of this stone's arrival, his day was lightened. He suddenly had a bold thought—I can build a castle with such beautiful stones. How magnificent it will be!
His ordinary life started to be different since then. He still delivered mail, but he collected every stone he could find along the way. All those dusty stones, in his eyes, glittered like diamonds.
Gradually, his small bag couldn't hold his stones anymore and he needed to use a wheelbarrow to carry them. People didn't understand what happened when they saw the postman delivering letters with a wheelbarrow full of stones.
After collecting enough stones, he started to build his castle. During the daytime, he passed along the dreams of others; and during the nighttime, he built his own dream. No one was willing to join in. But the postman was unmoved, still happily building his castle. Because he knew, the dream and the castle only belonged to him.
After 20 years of working day and night, the postman's dream castle was finally completed. It was a magnificent castle just as he had imagined. It was a miracle arising from the ordinary.
This is a real story. The postman's name is Xue Waller. The stone castle has become a famous tourist attraction in France, which is called“ ideal palace of Ferdinand Cheval.”At the entrance of the stone castle, there is a sentence—“I want to know how far a dream stone can go.”

For years I wanted a garden. I'd spend hours thinking of different things I could plant that would look nice together.

But then we had Mathew, and Marvin, and the twins -- Alisa and Alan, and then Helen. I was too busy raising them to grow a garden.

Money was not enough. Neither was time. Often when my children were little, one of them would want something that cost too much, I'd have to say,"Do you see a money tree outside? Money doesn't grow on trees, you know."

Finally, all the children got through high school and college and were off on their own. I started thinking again about a garden.

Then, one spring morning, on Mother's Day, I was working in my kitchen. Suddenly, I looked out of the window and there was a new tree, planted right in my yard. There were things blowing around on it. Then I put my glasses on and I couldn't believe what I saw. There was a money tree in my yard!

I went out to look. It was true! There were dollar bills, one hundred of them, hanging all over that tree. There was also a note among them, "Thank you for your time, Mom. We love you!"

Later, my children bought me tools, ornaments(装饰品), a sunflower stepping stone and gardening books. A new page started in my life.

That was three years ago. My garden is now very pretty, just like I wanted. When I go out and take care of my flowers, I don't seem to miss my children as much as I once did. It feels like they're right there with me. Now every year when winter comes, I look out of my window and think of the flowers I'll see next spring in my little garden. I think about what my children did for me, and I get tears in my eyes -- every time.

I'm still not sure that money grows on trees. But I know love does!

Nearly 7,000 medical workers in the team supporting Central China's Hubei province left the capital, Wuhan, the hardest-hit city in the novel coronavirus outbreak in China, and went back to their hometowns on Tuesday, March 31, marking the largest scale departure (离开) of medics (医学工作者)since the first group left on March 17. The Civil Aviation Administration of China has organized 51 planes to support the departure.

More than 42,000 medics from other parts of the country have joined the battle with local medics to fight against COVID-19. The support teams came from 21 provinces, cities and autonomous regions(自治区) and some of them worked on several battlefields during the past months. The support team from the First Hospital of China Medical University in Shenyang, was among those in the group. Sixty members were in charge of treating COVID-19 patients in 100 beds in the Union Hospital and treated 174 patients who have been seriously ill since they arrived on Feb 10.

Wang Zhenning, the leader of its support team, expressed his thanks to the Wuhan people who offered great help to them. "I am proud towitness and play a role in history. We've been here, seen it happen and become better. Wuhan is our second hometown. We will forever care about the city and the people fighting with us." he said.

Wuhan city government showed great thanks to all medics in a letter, expressing their gratefulness of the medics' efforts to save lives in the battle. "Thanks to your arrival, Wuhan welcomes today's peace and stability. We will always remember your kindness!" the letter said. In it, the city government also invited the medics to visit Wuhan in the future for sightseeing. Local people volunteered to line up and see medics off as the medics left for home after finishing their mission(使命) in Wuhan. Wuhan traffic police led the way for medics to the airport.

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

Claire, America

Sometimes something good comes out of a bad thing. Last month,I took a photo of an amazing sunset over a lake when hiking in a park. Then I decided to send it to my brother Charley. Anyway, I dropped my phone in the water. OMG! I lost all my photos and my phone. Well, luckily, Charley sent my sunset photo to the TV station. Today, they chose it for Photo of the Month, and I won a new camera. Maybe every cloud has a silver lining!

Sue, Canada

Ten years ago, my car broke down on my way to school. I didn't have enough money to fix it, so that term I had to get up at 5:00 a. m. every day to take the bus. One cold, wet morning, I felt really tired. But this guy started talking to me on the bus, and he really made me laugh! I also found that we studied at the same school. We exchanged phone numbers, and the rest is history. Ten years later, we' re married with two children. Oh, and a new car! Every cloud has a silver lining!

Yang, China

Some weeks ago, I helped a Malaysian friend Andrew move his things into my house. He lost his job and needed a place to stay. But I hurt my back when carrying some heavy boxes. It was really bad, so I had to go to the hospital. Anyway, I saw an advertisement for a computer programmer at the hospital. I called my friend, and he got the job! At least his cloud had a silver lining! Though I do have my house all to myself again.
