Once the colors of the world argued. All thought that they were the best and most important.

    Green said, "Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and hope. I'm the color of grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all animals would die."

    Yellow laughed, "You are all so serious. I bring happiness and warmth into the world. Every time people look at a yellow sunflower, they start to smile. Without me there would be no fun."

    Orange shouted, "I am the color of health and strength. I have the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, vegetables and oranges. When I appear in the sky, everyone is shocked at my beauty and nobody gives another thought to any of you."

    Red couldn't stand it any longer. "I am the color of danger and bravery. I bring fire into the blood."

    Their voices became louder and louder. The thunder got angry and the rain started to pour. When they became calm, the rain said, "You foolish colors. Don't you know that each of you is special? If you don't agree, just follow me." They did as the rain told them and together made the most beautiful rainbow.

Solutions: A. Tell them that we need to relax after studying for a long time or ask our teacher for help.

B. Tell them politely to keep quiet

C. Put up posters to ask them not to litter. If someone is found dropping litter, punish him badly.

D. We could say politely "Excuse me, could you please put out your cigarette?"

E. Call the bus company and ask for the better service.

    Running away is a serious problem. There are lots of runaway and homeless kids living in the streets around the world.

    What will you do if your friends want to run away from home?

    If your friend is thinking about running away, tell him or her that it is difficult to survive(幸存) in the streets. Try to help your friend feel less alone.

    Whatever the problem is, there are other ways to solve it. Maybe you can't think of the ways right now, but an adult(成年人) will know how to help you. You should tell an adult that your friend plans to run away as soon as possible. Being a real friend doesn't mean keeping a secret that may hurt someone. And running away isn't a solution(解决方法) for either of you. It only makes more problems and danger.

    A month ago the Brown family, who lived in Lyndhurst, had a special experience. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} She was making coffee while her husband, Frank, was watching a comedy program on television. Upstairs(在楼上) their young daughter, Ruth, was asleep in her room and their son, Mark, was doing some homework on his computer. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} However, at the end of the afternoon, it started to change. Soon, it began to rain very heavily. Tina looked out of the kitchen window and saw big storm clouds in the sky. The Browns' dog, Tilly, was in the back garden. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Shortly afterwards, Tina saw lightning(闪电) in the sky and then everything in the house went dark. Frank was unhappy because the television didn't work. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Then they heard baby Ruth crying. Frank went upstairs to look after the baby but when he climbed the stairs(楼梯) , there was a loud sound and the house seemed to shake. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} A big tree from their garden fell through the window of Ruth's room！Luckily it missed the baby by just half a meter!

    The Browns are English. Now they are in Beijing. (1)This is their first visit to China.

    They are going to stay in China for three weeks. They want to visit some big cities and villages. They want to learn some Chinese, too.

    Mr Brown is a driver, and he likes driving in Beijing very much. Mrs Brown is a teacher. She is visiting a school in Beijing. Their son Jim is a middle school student.

    Four good friends Mouse, Crow, Turtle and Deer lived in the forest. Every day they met at the lake and told each other interesting stories.

    One day Deer did not come to the lake to drink water.

    The other three were worried.

    "I saw a hunter (猎人) in the forest this morning," said Crow. "I'm afraid Deer might be hurt."

    "Fly over the forest, Crow," said Mouse. "Please see if you can find our friend Deer."

    It took him a few minutes before Crow saw Deer caught in a trap (陷阱) made of ropes. He flew back right away to ask the other two for help. When they arrived, Mouse and Crow began to break the ropes. Turtle kept talking to Deer to help her feel better.

    Just then, the hunter came to check his trap. "Everyone, leave now," said Turtle.

    Deer at once ran away with Mouse. Turtle just lifted a foot up when the hunter got close.

    "My trap is empty," said the hunter. "But, a turtle is better than nothing. I will eat turtle soup tonight." The hunter picked Turtle up and started for home.

    "Now we all must help our friend Turtle," said Deer.

    Deer lay down on the way. She seemed dead. Crow flew and landed on Deer's head. The hunter saw Deer so he put Turtle down to get Deer. As soon as the hunter left Turtle, Mouse ran up and helped Turtle hide in the forest. Deer jumped up and ran off .The hunter went back to get Turtle, but he found him gone. "How scary! There is magic here," he said to himself in great fear. Then he rushed out of the forest and never came back again.

    There was magic in the forest that day. That magic was called friendship.
