There are 24 solar terms (节气) in China, and the Grain Rain(谷雨) is one of them. It falls on April 19 this year.

    This solar term is called the Grain Rain because it is known for “rain” that helps the grain grow. From its name, we can guess it means a time of more rain. So if you go out in the next two weeks, you may need to bring an umbrella with you.

    But this is a great time for planting crops. If you miss the time for planting during the Grain Rain, you will feel sorry later. So maybe you can try to plant some flowers or vegetables in your garden. When the spring rain falls, farmers begin to grow crops (庄稼). Farmers often say, “Spring rain is as precious (珍贵的) as oil.” It brings farmers hope for a good year ahead.

    There are also many interesting customs during the Grain Rain. In the northern part of China, people like to eat Chinese toon (椿芽) mixed with eggs. The food made during the Grain Rain tastes wonderful and is good for your stomach. In the southern part of China, the tea leaves are picked during the time. They are called Grain Rain tea, which is famous for its freshness and sweet smell.

    Do you and your classmates like Doraemon? Yes, it is a popular cat.

    But you know, he is not a real cat but a robot（机器人）. The cat is a famous cartoon character（卡通人物）from Japan. Doraemon is from the 22^nd century. I love Doraemon and I also love his 2,000 amazing gadgets（小玩意）!

    Doraemon has a bamboo-copter（竹蜻蜓）. Put it on your head, and you can fly in the air. With a copter like this, I don't need to go to school by bike any more. The bamboo-copter flies at 80 km per hour. It's fast.

    Who are (A)_ at science in your class, girls or boys? Nowadays, girls start to show more interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects, according to a recent study by Cambridge Occupational Analysts (COA), UK.

    In the study, last year, (B) over 20,000 students who were in their final year in high school were surveyed. The number of girls considering university courses in STEM subjects has been larger than that of boys. Over a fifth of the girls surveyed said they were considering related jobs, (C)_ engineering and technology.      Savannah has lots of sunshine throughout the year. Summers are hot and humid. Winters are generally mild. Temperatures usually range between 30 degrees Fahrenheit(--1 degree Centigrade) and 90 degrees Fahrenheit(33 degrees Centigrade).

    The school trip is useful. It is one of the ways for students to be in the real life. But sometimes, it may not be good as you think.

    We had a terrible school trip yesterday. Some students were late for the early bus. Then we had to wait for the next bus. We waited for a long time but it didn't arrive. In the end. Our teacher took us to take the subway. 花了我们大约一个小时。 After we got off the subway, we walked and got lost. When we finally arrived at the zoo just at noon. We were tired and hungry. We left our cameras (照相机)at school, so we didn't take any photos. Then it rained，and no one had an umbrella. We went for lunch. But there wasn't any restaurant in the zoo. My friends had some ice-cream. But I didn't have any, because I don't like it. We didn't see many animals because of the rain. We left the zoo at 5 p.m. when the rain stops. At last, we went back to school. We were really tired. I didn't enjoy my school trip at all.
