Middle school years are important and bring great changes to students' lives. We have some advice to help you live a happy life in middle school years.

Health is the most important thing for you.

Health is so important that you should always protect it. Many teenagers think they don't have to worry about their health because it is just there. Never take your health for granted (理所当然), or you'll regret it later on.

You can't please everyone.

It's human nature to want to be liked and respected. Actually, it is impossible for you to please everyone. Just be yourself, and love and respect others so that they will give the same things back to you.

There's no shame in not knowing.

Nobody has all the answers. Pretending (假装) to be perfect doesn't make you perfect. We all make mistakes. We learn as we grow. That's life.

To sum up(总之), a healthy mind in a healthy body is the key to living a happy middle school life. It will continue to be the case when you move to the next stage of life.

On Wednesday, August 7, China got its first-ever gold medal in artistic swimming at the Paris Olympic Games.

Among the impressive performers were twin sisters, Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi. Born in 1997 and grew up in Shenzhen, the sisters took an interest in artistic swimming when they came to Shenzhen sports team in 2005, asking to learn artistic swimming. The twins almost didn't make it to the team because of their parents* heights.

There is an unwritten rule in artistic swimming. If a sportswoman is less than 1,68 meters tall, she is unlikely to become a professional. The twins' father is less than 1.7 meters tall, while their mother is a little taller than 1,6 metres, which means the daughters are unlikely to be tall enough.

However, the twins' wrong will and strengths impressed Hu, coach (教练)of Shenzhen team. She recalled that twins, who studied at Nanshan Foreign Languages School, went for training after school every day. At 20 years old, the twins grew to be 1.72 meters tall. They were among the tallest when joining the national artistic swimming team in 2017,

With good physical quality and willingness to bear hardships, through years of hard training, they became key players and got a lot of medals. In 2010, the twins won the gold medal at the provincial games. They also won a gold and a bronze medal at the national games in 2013 and 2O17.Then, they won four gold medals at the 2022 World Championships in Hungary and a gold in the duet event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, winning the right for the Paris Olympics.

How much pocket money do you get from your parents each week? British researchers did a survey of 1,204 children between 8 and 15 years old. According to the reports, they are getting less and less pocket money.

However, children are not too worried about it, according to the survey. Almost half of them believe they get the right amount. Only 42 percent say they would like to have more pocket money. Most kids like to compare their pocket money with their friends. In the survey, 37 percent believe their friends get more money than they do.

Although they are receiving less pocket money than before, most British kids still keep the good habit of saving, according to the survey.

"It is good to develop the habit of saving at a young age," said Flavia Palacios Uman, one of the researchers. "You will benefit later in life because your savings will add up over time."
