Rich or poor， young or old， we all have problems. We should learn how to deal with our problems. Here are some ways.

    Firstly， we should learn to forget.有时我们会生朋友的气。Good friendships may be lost. Sometimes children have disagreements and decide not to talk to each other. However， this usually does not last for long. This is an important lesson for us: we can solve a problem by learning to forget.

    Secondly， we should regard problems as challenges(挑战). Many students often complain about school.他们有太多的作业要做。They think the rules are too strict. Education is an important part of our development. As young people， it is our duty to try our best to deal with each challenge with the help of our teachers. Don't worry about our problems. Let's face the challenges.

    We spoke to three students from around the world about different national holidays. There are different customs (习俗) for each festival.

    “It'll soon be Chinese New Year. Before it, we'll clean the house and decorate it for good luck. Every shop is going to close for a few days and we'll go out a lot to celebrate in the streets. We might go and see the lion and dragon dances in the city center. I love this festival.”

    “Australia Day is on 26th January and it's an important holiday here. We always have a Monday off, so we celebrate for three days. My parents and I go to the countryside for a picnic and friends always come over. Many people go to beach parties or street parties and there's lots of music and dancing. What fun！”

    “The first Thanksgiving Day was hundreds of years ago when Europeans who came to America thanked God for his help. It's still a very important day for families to be together. This year we're going to visit my grandparents and we'll eat a delicious meal of turkey. Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday in November every year.”

    Body language is used by people for sending messages to one another. It is very useful because it can help you make yourself easily understood. When you are talking with others, you are not just using words, but also using body languages. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} A smile and handshake show welcome, and clapping hands means congratulations. These are accepted both by Chinese and foreigners as having the same meanings.

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} For example, men in Russia, France and Arab countries kiss each other when they meet, but men in China or Australia shake hands instead of kissing. People in Puerto Rio like touching each other, but people from English speaking countries do not touch each other. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} In some Asian countries, you must not touch the head of another person. People in Arab countries like standing close to one another when they are talking. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} In Arab countries, you eat with the fingers of your right land; the left hand is not used at all. In parts of Asia you must not sit with your feet pointing at another person.

    When you use a foreign language, it is very important to know the meanings of body languages in the foreign country. Following this will help you live and work better with foreign people.

    When I was a child, my parents always told me that I never talk to strangers. This was part of a whole list of things I should never do: Never accept food or candy from strangers, never get in car with strangers, and so on.

    But if we didn't start conversation with strangers, we'd never make new friends. We would never get a job. ①We may miss the joy that comes from talking with strangers. And the more people you know, the more chances you can find.

    The following passage offers you some advice on how to ②break the ice.

    Don't just stare at your shoes. Go and say "Hi" to that new guy. It will be easier to break the ice if you know more about different cultures.

    British: Beautiful day, isn't it?

    The weather in Britain is changeable. So, it's one of the topics the British care most about. And there's a simple rule: Say "Yes" whether you agree with the person's idea on the weather or not. ③That's because the British start a conversation using the weather so that they can continue their talk.

    French: Where did you go on holiday?

    To talk with a French person, the safest way is to ask about his or her last holiday. French students enjoy a 10-to-15-dayholiday every two months. French employees(雇员 )get more than six weeks of holidays per year.

    American: So, where are you from?

    The US is so big and people move so often that location is always source(来源) of talk. You can try to find connection with the place they're from. For example, if someone is from Los Angeles, you could say, "Oh. I have friend who studied there."
