    The theme park you are probably most familiar with is Disneyland. It can be found in several parts of the world. It will bring you into a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} world and make your dreams come true, {#blank#}11{#/blank#} you are travelling through space, visiting a pirate ship or meeting your favourite fairy tale or Disney cartoon character.     Imagine a road crossing without the three-day traffic signal, cars, trucks, school buses, bicyclists and students walking to school would try to rush through the crossing{#blank#}1{#/blank#} the same time. Their safety would be in danger.

    Thanks to an African American{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (invent) named Garrett Augustus Morgan, we have three-way traffic signals that help make crossings much{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (safe). Mr. Morgan was born in Kentucky in 1877. He only received six years' education. As a teen he left his family's farm in search of better{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (opportunity). Living in Cincinnati, Ohio, he continued his studies in English grammar. Then he moved on to Cleveland{#blank#}5{#/blank#}he worked as a repairman for a clothing factory. He had a keen interest in solving problems {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (meet) in everyday life. Later he patented several inventions. The three-way traffic signal was just one of {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. One day he felt very sad when he saw a traffic accident. To help reduce traffic accidents and save people's lives, he {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (immediate) began to work on the invention. Finally, it was {#blank#}9{#/blank#} great success which saved lives then, and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (be) still saving lives today.

    It was a very foggy day in London. The fog was so thick that it was impossible to see more than{#blank#}1{#/blank#}foot or so. Standing by the side of the road{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(be) buses, cars and taxies and were not able to run. People tried to find{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(they) way on foot but got lost in the fog.

Mr. Smith said he wanted to get to the House of Commons{#blank#}6{#/blank#}he couldn't find the way. The stranger told him he could take him there.

    Mr. Smith thanked him and they started to walk there. The fog was getting{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(thick) but the stranger had no difficulty{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(find) the way. They went along one street, turned down another, and crossed a square.At last, after about half an hour's walk, they arrived at the House of Commons. Mr. Smith couldn't understand{#blank#}9{#/blank#}the stranger found his way in the thickfog. Soheasked the stranger. "It is no trouble at all to me," said the stranger. "I am{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(total) blind."
